Wooo! I just got my first proper smile from Dylan Grin

Now he keeps smiling when he looks at me, aww its so lovely. Finally this hard work is paying off!

Emster30 · 19/08/2010 21:12

hooray for smiles, I can't wait!

I wonder if we should move over to post-natal now? I assume everyone due in July will have had their babies by now, but just not updated us?

right, james is asleep on my lap, am going to attempt to go and put him in his (warmed with a hot water bottle) crib so I can cook dinner. Wish me luck...

emster DH was talking about warming the bed, do u find it works then?
DH Im glad ur dress fits, i have a wedding on saturday and honestly thought a dress i had wiould fit, suprise suprise it doesnt, god knows what im going to wear now. Having to go on my own too as DH is off to Brum for the first football match of the season, feel a bit daunted but im sure it will be fine.
Im sure Devon smiled at DH first thing this morning, just said to DH about it and he doesnt even remember!! How bad is that, id be more annoyed however hes been really good with him tonight.
Devon is in his moses in his cot in his room sleeping soundly, just needed him to do that two hours ago! He is ok in the day and the night time its just the evening really, he really seems in pain and i can hear his belly gurgling, its such a shame. Im using infacol, anyone got anythng else they use for trapped wind. Also he has a very flakey scalp, not crusty just dry looking and flakey, anyone suggest anything?
Who was it that said about bleeding and a bit smelly from down below after having stiches, its actually quite smelly, is that normal?(sorry TMI really)!!

Emster30 · 19/08/2010 22:10

Yes, it means his head isn't going from my warm arm to a cold crib - it really seems to help. He went down beautifully and we ate our dinner in peace! Am sitting here wondering what to do with myself, although there is the odd minor squawk from the monitor. I think I might go and jump in the bath before bed while I have the chance.

Jojobil · 19/08/2010 22:40

Frank has been asleep for a while too;) We are off to Suffolk tomorrow. (Great weather for a holiday:( )
But we were packing and that kept him awake a little longer. He has had explosive nappies the last couple of days. The poo literally "explodes" up his back and goes all over the place... I am sooo knackered. I think I will try and get some sleep now.
Have a good weekend everyone!

stac14 · 19/08/2010 23:30

mlic can you post the link for the fb group? I searched but a few came up, is it the one with the pic of a bump?

Are we finishing this thread then moving to postnatal or going now? spireal we need your thinking cap for new names.

I'm off to bed so will pop on tomorrow.

viksam does devon have trapped wind? X

mylife i have requested to join, suprisingly im Victoria!
Had a terrible night here, i was out of sync all day really then had a really bad evening where he just wouldnt go down he eventually went off at about 9.30 so when it was time for his 10.30 feed he didnt want to know, hence he was up at 12 then grunted for ages when i put him back down, then 3.30 then awake at 5 and, as u say DH grunting for what seemed like hours. I did get him up both times to wind him but nothing. Also when he is having his bottles he is really unsettled, sqirming and crying out and going puce in the face, like he is really struggling with his belly. Poos were more frequent yesterday which is good so i really thought we would have a more settled evening and night but if anything it was a whole lot worse. I am giving him Infacol before most feeds, i might go to boots drop in today, i think they have a baby drop in at 11.30. I just HATE it because he seems in pain and so unsettled. He has gone down now but only because i stood there for 5mins holding the dummy in. i should be sleeping myself im exhausted really and feeling a little low. I dont suppose the weekend is helping having to go to the wedding on my own and also not having DH around for the 6th day, just feel like im doing it all on my own a bit really. He is really good and i shouldnt moan, just feeling it a bit today.....need sleep!!

Spirael · 20/08/2010 10:39

Morning all!

Back to routine here, Mindy woke at 3am then needed to be prodded awake at 7am - so no more 7 hour sleeps! Ah well, she's a bit young to reliably sleep through anyway. At least I know she can do it when she tries! Grin

She's being good as gold this morning though, laying in the cot dozing or looking around at the nursery. So, I've managed to: clean the bathroom, tidy the kitchen, strip the beds, run some laundry, load the dishwasher, hoover the floors, sort the clothes and express for DH to give the evening feed. My house is in order - yay!

But still no smiles from Mindy, and she's 6 weeks + 2 days now - boo!

I've requested to join the FB group. I'm, ahem... The bloke called Slade W. No, that's not my real name or gender. Wink I'm in disguise - I don't really want all the old bullies friends from school to find me!

If it helps though, my real name is Rae. :) (Does the mis-spell of Spiral make sense now?)

Did someone call for names for the post-natal thread? Wink Here are a few off the top of my head...

July 2010 - The gang's all here, we're now getting started on our baby's first year.

July 2010 - Getting used to a sleepless night, while covered in vomit - aren't we a sight!

July 2010 - What have we done? Can the baby go back? This is no fun!

I'm kidding with the last one. Wink

DesperateHousewife21 · 20/08/2010 10:58

spirael how do you have the energy for all that housework!?
Im still trying to muster the energy to put the laundry on lol.
Love the last thread title ha! I vote for the second one Grin

Dylan is 6 weeks today :)

mlic I've requested to join, Rosie M

I like number 1 :)

viks we'll join you on the crap nights. Although Sam's whittled his night feed down to 2 most nights, he takes ages to settle again. Last night he fed for 20 mins but it took me nearly an hour to resettle him, when he fed at half 4 I thought I'd get a good 3 hours but he didn't want to settle, eventually he fell asleep on me so I dozed sitting up til gone 7 Hmm my back's not felt right all day!

We went to get the latch checked again today cos it's still very painful to feed. She checked for tongue tie and says it's minimal so that's not what's causing me the pain...
