scully · 13/09/2005 14:59

shame nemo, it's sad leaving them, but I do enjoy the very occassional time I get without dd, even if it's just 2hrs!
a snooze, how lovely. I'm currently thinking about getting a can of coke to see me through until 4.15pm when I can leave. I look forward to my 20min on the train in the afternoon now so I can have a rest before picking up dd from nursery - how sad!

george32 · 13/09/2005 15:06

I hope he (& you ) have a good day Nemo.

SH, I've not seen my midwife since 12 weeks so I haven't a clue about anything (which is why I'm always asking daft questions here! ). I'm finally seeing her on Thursday for my 25 wk appointment.

DQ, as you know I've been having a similar situation with hormones & depression and I think it is worth speaking to the experts about it so they can advise from their experience. It seems to me like the pregnancy hormones can almost set you off in that downward spiral. It is so hard to judge for yourself how you are actually feeling because once you hit depression, it distorts everything. I think the fear of depression happening again can also have an impact and make a situation worse. All pretty tricky & confusing really.
Hopefully it is just a brief spell and you will be feeling brighter as the week goes on (you did have a long, tiring day with the trip to London yesterday). Do as SH says & take some time out for you & see if it makes you feel any better. Sorry, I'm going on a bit here!

ei23mummy · 13/09/2005 15:14

good afternoon!! lol nemo iv just read through too and forgot to take notes so... ah well!
how is everyone??
dq, iv recently started to delegate housework to my dp (and pretty much whoever visits when im in cleaning mode!!) im finding it really hard to cope with all the housework at the mo and theres only the two of us here!! god knows how you get through all of it yourself!! you should do what someone suggested before(sorry cant remember who it was lol!) get something pamperish and take some time out for yourself!! you deserve it honey!
how old are your other kids?? (if you dont mind me askin?) cause they could help out aswell- theyre never too young to learn how to put a load of washing on!! hehe

sweetheart · 13/09/2005 16:13

DQ - I think ei has hit the nail on the head - just peeped at the stats (do you have a 13 and 10 year old?)

If you do could you get them to help out with the housework - give them some extra pocket money for helping out. My dd is 5 and she loves having a go with the hoover or doing the polishing. Mind you - it's a shame shes not so enthusiastic about the phrase "tidy your bedroom"

Had my anti D injection - OUCH!!!! Also found out I've got to have another one at my next appointment

mw said my fundal height was correct and not to try and measure my own belly (I didn't explain I have been measuring with toilet paper)

Baby has head down today but she says it can change constantly at this stage.

George I can't believe you haven't seen your mw since 12 weeks!!!! I feel like I'm always at one appointment or another.

ninah · 13/09/2005 16:42

not to measure your own tummy! what are else Tuesdays for, is she quite mad?! Did you Tell her what day it was? did you tell her about your posh brands fetish? No, well, there you see. If you don't keep the health professionals informed about these matters ...

ei23mummy · 13/09/2005 16:54

gosh my pg hormones are raging today!! iv just had a go at my dp for not coming straight home after finishing early- hes doing a job with his granddad. nothin funny like robbin a bank or anythin hes an electrician! i wanted a big hug because i went to feed our fish- little silver ones- and found one dead at the top of the tank i dont really like fish either but i still felt the need for a good cry and said bye bye to it as i flushed the toilet! im so sad!! he told me to stop being silly and that made me worse! were down to one now from five when we bought them- its like our tank is where fishes come to die!! sniff sniff!!

george32 · 13/09/2005 16:59

PMSL @ SH not owning up to measuring with toilet paper
I think I can feel when my little one is turning over now. It feels like a squirming in my tummy and then the kicks change end.

I saw the GP at 16 wks for an ante-natal then nothing planned til this week. I think I start having appointments regularly from this week though.

They keep sticking needles in you SH don't they. I hope it was a different arm than yesterday.
Ninah, a Christmas meal on the 20th???? (Sorry, I know you posted that ages ago but it has only just sunk in!)

dramaqueen72 · 13/09/2005 18:23

thanks ladies for many kind words. honestly its not I do everything -I'm actually quite strict with my big kids at them doing certain chores- its just the amount I ahve to do,iyswim. large house (thats crumbling about me) and big family, correction, big MESSY family, who trek mud in, leave washing about, use every cup etc. if I had one child I would prob be on top of it (not in anyway lessening what you 'one child already' families are doing by that statement!) sometimes i feel overwhelmed you know? and heres me having one more child too! I must be totally crackers.
george, not long spoke to the 'professionals' about this, and they seemed to think it was normal and not depression currently. thankyou for thinking of me. I will keep trying for my moments of sanity and peace (like being on here ) and will pick up face packs next tiem am shopping. just need sound proof bathroom door and I will be set!
s/h glad midwife shared some insights today. think tp tuesday is vague enough measurement that you can do it and not worry too much surprised you didnt tell her about it
I'm sorry about the fish ei, and all the 'silly little' stuff that really does indeed kick off hormones. hang in there. eat chocolate, I find its an excellent cure after rages.

bonkerz · 13/09/2005 20:39

HI Girls

Well where to start, Have read all the posts but like everyone ive forgotton!
Was really sick last night! Had chinese for tea and it didnt sit right and reappeared at 11pm (sorry TMI). Was sick again this morning but felt immediately better when my new ZOOPER arrived!!!
Bit boring here really, not much else to add! Got midwife on Thursday for my 25 week check. Did some shopping for more stork gifts! Hopeing to post it by end of month!
Have gone up 1/4 of a sheet of tp and gained 2lbs!

Posted my form for MA today! only 8 1/2 weeks to go! yippeee

ei23mummy · 13/09/2005 22:18

im so about all you girls who have only got a few weeks left until they start their mat leave!! grr iv still got about 11 weeks to go!!
iv got my appointment to see a consultant tomorrow about my constant water infections so hopefully hell be able to sort me out! it at 9am so ill prob be knackered for the rest of the day- whats new lol!
sorry your not been too well bonkerz! and yay on your brand new zooper!
i feel in better spirits now- i know the fish is in a better place[rolling eyes emoticon]!! actually feel kinda foolish and laughed at myself when dp came in!
not much going on here am just digesting 1/2 a chocolate cheesecake so i feel a little ill!! hehe

george32 · 14/09/2005 08:40

DQ, I'm glad they think it is just the hormones still. I only realised that it was something more when I was still feeling listless when we went on holiday. I had non of my usual get up & go and really just wanted to stay under the duvet all day (not me at all on holiday ). I then went a bit barmy but I had a clue all wasn't right before hand
Get a set of ear plugs for when you lock yourself in the bathroom& you can escape to an hours peace!!

Sorry you were poorly Bonkerz, hope it was a one off & you are OK now.

Well done on the cheesecake Ei, that is good going.
Hope all goes well at your appointment this morning. Sorry about the fish (I'm sorry, I had to snigger, esp when you said you didn't really like them anyway )

How did Adam enjoy his day yesterday Nemo?

Nemo1977 · 14/09/2005 08:46

morning all
George he loved it and looked a bit peeved to be home...lol They came back at about 4pm but said next time they will take him for a little longer. Apparently he was an angelic child...lol although he was a litle monster when he got home and was bullying the poor dog.

Hope everyone else is ok
I hardly slept again last night which always makes me feel like I am hungover or something.

george32 · 14/09/2005 09:01

I'm glad he had a good time. Were you OK without him?
Sleepless night here too. Yawning my head off today.

Nemo1977 · 14/09/2005 09:04

poor you being tired and in work...remmeber that with adam..at least i am sitting on the couch at the min...thanks to blues clues mainly..lol

Err was I ok without him..so so. I did have a bit of a cry when he went but then dh took me out for lunch and then did some stuff around the house that is near impossible with a 2 yr old wanting to do it too..lol

sweetheart · 14/09/2005 09:40

Morning all!!

My boss is away for the next two days so I can relax at work - so far this morning I've created a star chart for my dd!! Very productive!!!

Nemo - I'm glad your ds had such a lovly day out. It must have been so nice for you to see him come back with a big smile on his face. Good job it went well too as it sounds like you'll be getting another free day soon

Well, lets hope you lot are in a chatty mood today - I've got 7 hours to fill

Nemo1977 · 14/09/2005 09:47

lol SH bored already.
Hope the star chart works for your DD we started one with adam last week and so far it seems to be working as he loves doing the stars and if he gets a cross he actually boos now...lol Last day of this week tommorow so he is able to get a magazine from shop if he has 4 good days outs of 7 which he has already done.

sweetheart · 14/09/2005 10:14

Have just finished cutting up the stars. We've got a make shift one at home this week - it worked yesterday but I can see that the novalty may wear off quickly. She has to manage 3 stars (brekkie, lunch and dinner) today, tomorrow and friday to get her bones magazine. Next week we'll probably say she has to get at least two stars per day or something.

ei23mummy · 14/09/2005 10:43

morning!!
am just back from my appointment. not too informative as they said that they couldnt do anything for me til two weeks as they didnt know that i was still on antibiotics! apparrantly the infection is one of the ones thats been on the news recently- its resistant to most common antibiotics and thats why it wont clear properly! not to worry though iv gotta pop a new wee sample in to them next week for more tests and then get the results the following week! they did a full a/n check aswell and the baby's thriving!! so thats good! anyway... enough about me... how is everyone today??
lol geaorge it sounds a bit mean but im kinda hoping to find the other fish floating at the top of the tank now so i can persuade sean to get rid of the tank!! hehe [evil emoticon!] i can do a little mini memorial for that one then and it wont be lonely in its tank!!lol!
nemo, sorry your feelin a bit knackered today have a little doze on the couch while your ds is watchin the telly- it might perk you up a bit!

george32 · 14/09/2005 12:41

Glad the baby is OK Ei but I'm sorry it's not good news on the infection front. How horrible for you.

The day is going sooooooo slowly. Only 12.42, hours to go yet.
I'm so tired & not in the mood today. I want to be at home watching rubbish daytime telly!

SH, how are you getting on? Any suggestions as to how I can pass the time?

sweetheart · 14/09/2005 12:52

Ei,

Glad to hear your baby is doing well!!!!!

well I've held out for my lunch so I'm going to wonder round the town to pass a bit of time.

I made dd's star chart with stars which took about an hour.

Luckily I'm not the only person in the office who is bored and being that the boss is away we can get away with just sitting and chatting.

I've had a look on Ebay for baby stuff and reconciled my bank account online - all pretty boring stuff. Have you got any ideas how we can make today go quicker????

ei23mummy · 14/09/2005 13:01

i think the day is draggin for us all! im just at home doing nowt so it seems the day is going really slowly!!
s/h have a nice lunch! george, have you already had lunch, maybe you could take a long one to pass some time away!
and hey if you get too bored theres always online sudoku to play! its so addictive!

Nemo1977 · 14/09/2005 13:05

I agree today is dragging...adam is being a right monster today adn am waiting for some bloke to come and fit a loft ladder hes not due till 3pm but i think the idea of being confined to the house even though I dont want to go anywhere is doing my head in..lol

sweetheart · 14/09/2005 13:56

well I managed to get some xmas shopping done during lunch. There are a couple of sales on in town so I grabbed some bargains.

Starting to wonder what it's going to be like at home all day when mat leave starts. I'm not quite sure what I'll do with myself. The 1st week will be OK coz I'll be able to catch up on housework but - what to do after that????

Whats everyone else got planned??

dramaqueen72 · 14/09/2005 14:29

LOL trust me ladies, once you are at home you'll 'just start that chore'(clearing out cupboards etc....) and BINGO!the day will have shot by and you wont of made dinner.or is that just me?
had a total melt down last night, uhoh! but seemed to have sunk in alittle with dh whos been more attentive and slightly more helpful today. I do wonder about these pg hormones tho, they come out of nowhere! feel better today tho.
as for passing time, hmmmm, have you wrote your christmas lists? (what to get everyone and what you'd like? -second alot more fun!) or you 'still need for baby'list? (tho that can be abit scary if youve got loads to get!) I am a list aholic so thats what I'd do.
go online and read the mags -more, glamour, red etc.....design your baby announcement cards?
I suspect you can tell I am master at whiling away hours.........

sweetheart · 14/09/2005 14:32

DQ - have got all those lists - along with spread sheet budgets to stick to!!! Most of my baby shopping will wait now until we've been to the baby show I want to see if I can get some bargains there.

I've asked for vouchers for clothes and pampering for xmas - so that I can indulge myself on those "new mummy" mornings where you feel like total s**t!!!
