well we had a nice weekend, hectic as we had friends stay over Fri and Sat night (incl 17mth old, had forgotten how 'busy' that age is!) Had 7 very drunk lads in my back garden & kitchen Saturday evening. By 1am my patience had run out and I went downstairs to have 'words'. But it was a fun night otherwise. & I had lots of help cleaning up my kitchen, which looked like a tip on Sunday morning.......One great think about pregnancy is not waking up with a hangover but watching everyone else suffer
My girlfriend and I left our children at home wtih their suffering fathers yesterday and went to 2 antique shops and had a hot chocolate and a catchup, very nice way to spend Sunday morning.
Managed to get as far as finding all the bags in the loft with baby things in them, but didn't manage to go through any of them though! Hope to do that slowly in the evenings this week, after dd has gone to bed, otherwise she will pilfer things for her dolls!

ei23mummy · 12/09/2005 11:11

morning ladies! i finally managed to get to sleep at around 2:30 only to wake at 4 then 6:30 when the alarm clock went off for dp. bloody insomnia!! dp's off from work 'sick' today hes complaining that his legs are really sore from the walk yesterday! poor baby!
i was looking forward to a nice lie in and laze around the house today but instead hes in the way and makin mess- its like actually having a chile sometimes!! ah well thats life il just spent today cleaning up after him and making him cups of coffee!!

expatinscotland · 12/09/2005 11:11

Was up till 1AM w/this bloody acid reflux. I am swilling straight off the Gaviscon bottle these days.

Up again for good at 7.

I'm knackered!

george32 · 12/09/2005 11:30

LOL @ everyone having a moan this morning

I think it's a lovely big box of choccies needed all round today.

Have you tried drinking Pineapple juice Expat. It seem to hold off my heartburn sometimes.

ebbie22 · 12/09/2005 11:30

Morning all, glad everyone had a gd weekend,Sorry tohear bout your row sh,have you spoken to ur mum since?
I want to sleap but have really BAD cramp,no ache in top of thighs, even if i lie on them for 15 mins....Cant sleep...Had a bad wk with sickness and dizzyness so hopefully this week will be much better...What do i dobout my legs? They are driving me mad..

expatinscotland · 12/09/2005 11:31

I tried pineapple juice to no effect . Almonds work well, but they give me horrible trapped wind, so I stick to the Gaviscon.

ebbie22 · 12/09/2005 11:33

Also love the names, james and may are close for middlenames too,how weird...

george32 · 12/09/2005 11:39

Orange juice & lettuce really aggravate mine, your not a big lettuce fiend are you Expat?

Your legs sound really painful Ebbie, have you called the mw to ask her for suggestions?

ebbie22 · 12/09/2005 11:44

Am going on wed,and will just wait, but what with my sore bitsi feel really knackard...

sweetheart · 12/09/2005 11:54

Can I join in the moaning. Had a diabetes test today so sugar drink for breakfast [YUK face] and then blood taken and ages sitting around hospital for the results. Ei - wanted to ask your advice, or anyone else that knows - My arm is killing me from where they took blood. The vein is purple and quite swollen. This doesn't normally happen to me - is it normal??? I've got to have more bloods tomorrow and the dreaded Anti D injection. I'm gonna look like a pin cushion by mid week!!!

Haven't heard from my mum - didn't really expect to.

Ei, I think you should put your foot down now on the child care issue. We have a childminder 3 days a week and my mum does 2 days. Perhaps you could say that a very reputable childminder has a vacancy that you'd be mad to turn down??

Nemo - love the names. I really hope they confirm this is a boy at my scan in Oct as dh and I have given up with girls names - mostly becuase we couldn't agree on any.

Expat - welcome to the gaviscon swiggers club!! I have several bottles dotted around the place so I'm never far from one Have you tried milk - I find it helps.

expatinscotland · 12/09/2005 12:00

Ice cream! Now taht helps the acid reflux. Mmmm.

No names as of yet. DH prefers Steven if it's a boy.

It likes to wake up and stay up around 11.

Could have strangled DH last night. He went into DD's room b/c he left his Gameboy in there. He woke her up finding it. She started laughing and talking and wanting to play. She didn't settle again until 2AM!

scully · 12/09/2005 13:14

I'd be cross about that Expat! Ei, SH's suggestion is good about sharing the childcare if possible. Takes the pressure off family relations and also gives your child a chance to spend time with another adult and other children. Helps you keep the costs down too, as full time childcare is horrendously expensive. Sad but one of the things I am most excited about is reducing dd's nursery from 5 to either 2 or 3 days week. We will be so well during the time I get maternity pay with that reduced and no train ticket to buy!

sweetheart · 12/09/2005 15:27

It's very quiet on here today isn't it!!! I'm bored - can you tell.

Do you think it's becuase DQ is in London

dramaqueen72 · 12/09/2005 15:55

hey! I heard that!

sweetheart · 12/09/2005 15:56

lol

Hi DQ - what are you doing back so early?

dramaqueen72 · 12/09/2005 15:58

yes, hmm, back from london and absolutely shattered. (I feel like such a 'girl from the sticks' going there, its so big and busy.......and dirty and crowded.LOL!!! still you know business done and sorted, and quick lunch with dh before driving home.
I can seriously appreciate my day at home tomorrow now

sweetheart · 12/09/2005 16:05

I hope dh is letting you put your feet up DQ!!

dramaqueen72 · 12/09/2005 16:13

actually, hes fallen asleep!! so I am watching dd2 and surfing the net! its not quite sleeping but its close!

sweetheart · 12/09/2005 16:15

cheeky git. I'd get dd2 to pester him until he wakes up!!!

dramaqueen72 · 12/09/2005 16:19

LOL! actually he often naps on days home.....its terrible isnt it?! but he had a hard morning arguing in high courts and driving all that way, so I dont really mind. he will be sent to the shops at about 5pm mind you for things i havent the energy to get now.

george32 · 12/09/2005 16:25

Did you manage to find a car park DQ?

I still feel like a girl from the sticks after working here for 3 years. London is so not me, I do wonder sometimes how I've ended up here day after day!! (4 weeks, 4 days & counting......)

sweetheart · 12/09/2005 16:30

make sure you add a nice pudding onto that list DQ to reward yourself for today

Just wanted to post a bit of a musshy message. The blood tests I had done today were booked when I had my 12 week scan. I remember being reluctant to booking a September appointment back then because I was terrified I'd loose this baby before now.

I just want to say thank you to you lot for being so great over the last 7 months. It's been the best and worst 7 months ever and I know alot of you have been through the same range of emotions as me.

We're nearly there girls!!! Nearly ready to hold our little xmas miracles and cry with joy and I can't think of nicer people to share it with

dramaqueen72 · 12/09/2005 16:31

phew! thought it was just me george! everyone looks so busy and important in london...and then theres little ol me.........
we were almost at the car park when dh spotted street parking closer so he put it there.
your last few weeks will FLY by now. then you can relaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaax some.
