Funeral songs etc needed for our baby

Our beautiful baby boy died at 5 days old yesterday we are completely lost.

This is actually DH's first funeral and today also marks the due date of our other baby who I MMC end of last year.

We have a 2 year old son; I was considering using songs that he likes but DH said he doesn't want DS to associate his favourite things with grief.

Also what else do we need to consider? We will be contacting a funeral director today.

I'm so sorry Twittlebee, I was on the Sept thread in thd beginning and remember you. I still read but haven't posted there in a long while.

For my DS's funeral we had adiego for strings (classical version) and REM everybody hurts. Are you having any readings? We had little snowdrop and remembering by Elizabeth Dent.

We only chose 3 songs and the last meant the most.

I am so so sorry for your losses.

At my baby girls funeral, we had a piece of music that was close to XH to come in to, Eric Clapton 'Tears in Heaven' as we walked out, and I didnt actually remember the hymn we had during the service, but have just looked through the order of service and we had a couple of hymns (both families religious), the 2nd one was one I chose that always reminded me of my GPS - Make me a Channel of your Peace.

I once cried in Sainsburys car park listening to Radio 2 as they played "Time in a Bottle" by Jim Croce.
It had been requested by a couple who had played it at their child's funeral - it's a very beautiful wistful song:
