My dad died this evening

He died peacefully with my mum beside him. He's only 64, but has been very ill with cancer for a long time, and the last few months in particular have been very tough.

Roisin - I am very sorry about your dad. My mum died young of cancer too and it is difficult even when you know what is coming. Thinking of you and all your family.

Roisin- I am so very sorry to hear this. I didn't realise you and your family were going through this- the last few months must have been awful at times. I am really glad his death was peaceful. Cancer is such a horrible illness though and 64 is far too young. All my love to you and your family.

roisin, I am so so sorry. (I've been away, and this is the very first thing I've seen here.)

It was your father, wasn't it, who himself made perfect Cuisenaire rods for you and your boys? That struck a chord I haven't forgotten - I thought how lovely, and thoughtful, and dedicated, a person he must be.

roisin, I'm sorry for your loss. I know you've had a tough time recently as I remember your threads. I'm glad he died peacefully with your mum there. That's great.
