TERRIBLE NEWS FROM YORKIEGIRL

tillykins · 10/08/2006 03:25

Yorkiegirl has phoned me from holiday in Portugal; her husband Nigel has collapsed and died tonight.
She thinks it was a stroke or heart attack.
The authorities are trying to get hold of her parents - they are also in Portugal
Fortunately, neither of her DDs saw anything
I don't know much more than that but will post if I have anything else

thank you for leting me know her childrens ages, oh the poor little things, they must be so confused at the moment even if they are a bit young to understand the full situation (small blessing).
So glad they have their grandparents there to help them and their mum.
Im not a member of mo, is there a link or something?

MarsLady · 10/08/2006 10:27

If you go down to the link it will take you to MO at the top on the blue bar are the words Help Yorkiegirl (or is it Anna? Sorry just done a night shift). Click it and it will take you straight to the donation page. You don't need to register. hth

lanismum · 10/08/2006 10:28

so sorry to hear this sad news

Pixiefish · 10/08/2006 10:28

It's terrible. I can't believe it. He was 40. Her dd's are 4 and 2.

Yes Marina- he worked for the local authority, I hope they are compassionate with YG.

Mascaraohara · 10/08/2006 10:30

airy · 10/08/2006 10:30

xxxxx

whoopsfallenoveragain · 10/08/2006 10:31

So sorry to hear this.
My thoughts are with Yorkiegirl and her family x

UrsulatheSeawitch · 10/08/2006 10:36

OMG, how absolutely dreadful

YG, if DD1 or I can be of any help when you get home please let us know XXX

tillykins · 10/08/2006 10:37

From Sabian on MO - this has been posted

Ok...

I've changed the donation page to only go to Anna... The reason I did this is because of the IPN (instant payment notification) of Paypal will report back to the donation page meaning that any/all monies will be listed as a running total to keep this as transparent as possible.

I regret that I'm not the best with wording at the best of times so if you feel that the text on the page isn't appropriate or if you'd like it to say something else, please PM me and I'll change it.

To get to the donation, please go here:
www.mumsonline.net/forums/donate.php

Again, this is set for [email protected] and all monies donated will be reported back so that there'd be a 'running' total as it were. As far as those who donated, we'd only be aware of who you are because of the Paypal details but there'll be no mention on here (by us, you are welcome to say that you donated if you want to) and nothing will 'flag' in your account to say that you have donated.

If there are any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me via pm or email... I'm going out for a few hours today so I'm going to pm Tilly my mobile incase something needs to be done urgently.

EDIT:
I just wanted to add that if you are uncomfortable with using Paypal to make a donation, I'm sure someone who is closer to YG may be able to take cheques/postal orders or something... That would have to be set up by that person. You do not have to have a Paypal account to make a donation though, only a credit card or debit card, so don't let not having an account prevent you from helping!

This is what has been posted on MO to make a collection for Anna. I really feel that at the moment, it will just be cash that she needs, in terms of practical support.

If you want to send a card, please email me for Anna's address lisa(at) rangey (dot) demon (dot) co (dot) uk

Pixie has told her friends on scrapbooking sites so for now, I think there is little more we can do

thank you everyone for this

My father in law, died very suddeny from a heart attack (with no previous heart problems)on my birthday 2 years ago and my mother in law had terrible trouble sorting out finances.
