TERRIBLE NEWS FROM YORKIEGIRL

Yorkiegirl has phoned me from holiday in Portugal; her husband Nigel has collapsed and died tonight.
She thinks it was a stroke or heart attack.
The authorities are trying to get hold of her parents - they are also in Portugal
Fortunately, neither of her DDs saw anything
I don't know much more than that but will post if I have anything else

so sorry for her and all the family

I am so sorry that you have had to go through this, so sorry that your daughters lost their dad and that you had the awful, awful task of telling them. Although we don't 'know' eachother I had to post a message and I am thinking of you and wishing you strength in the times to come. x

YOrkiegirl - my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. My deepest condolences go out to you.

YG, we have never spoken and I feel that I am somehow intruding: but you saying that this means a lot to you has helped me to add my inadequate words to al the others: you are an amazing mum to be so strong right now, but you need to be kind to yourself as well: Nigel's last gift to you was to go 'happy and contented', so that you can at least be comforted by that in times to come. The whole MN community is praying in its myriad different ways for you and the girls, as am I.

Like so many others on here, you've been constantly in my thoughts since I read your awful news. I've already posted once with condolences, but your loss has really made me appreciate what I've got, and how silly it is to argue over petty things. Bet I'm not the only one who told DH DD and DS how much I love them before I went to bed last night - and if I woke in the night, had just a little worry over if they were all right. Your sad loss has been a wake-up call to what's important in life.
