TERRIBLE NEWS FROM YORKIEGIRL

Yorkiegirl has phoned me from holiday in Portugal; her husband Nigel has collapsed and died tonight.
She thinks it was a stroke or heart attack.
The authorities are trying to get hold of her parents - they are also in Portugal
Fortunately, neither of her DDs saw anything
I don't know much more than that but will post if I have anything else

This is so terribly, terribly sad. I am so very sorry for you and your family.

this probably won't help much now, but my dad died of a heart attack when I was 18 (I rember the odd calm feeling of just getting on with things). What I wanted to say was that something that has really helped over the years is knowing that he had not suffered - if he had to die then I think maybe it is the best way to go (albeit an awful shock for those left behind).

Take one day at a time, when that is difficult take one hour at a time.
