TERRIBLE NEWS FROM YORKIEGIRL

tillykins · 10/08/2006 03:25

Yorkiegirl has phoned me from holiday in Portugal; her husband Nigel has collapsed and died tonight.
She thinks it was a stroke or heart attack.
The authorities are trying to get hold of her parents - they are also in Portugal
Fortunately, neither of her DDs saw anything
I don't know much more than that but will post if I have anything else

Anna, I know I don't know you as well as others here, but having met you a time or two I feel like I do/should do.

I cannot think what to say, your post has made me cry.

We are fairly close to you, if I can offer anything in the way of practical support let me know - even if it is just a day out in sunny York to get a change of scenery for you and/or the girls! Ds and dd would love it I know!

Thinking of you, SM xx

My lovely, wonderful, beautiful 10yo dd just came in to find me a bit upset by this, she knows YG a bit fom me talking about her after meet-ups etc. I told her you were all having a whip round but that I had no money to add so she said, I have £10 left from my holiday money, would you like to send that? What an amasing girl she is!

kimi · 10/08/2006 13:14

Securmummy what a lovely daughter you have, and what lovely mumsnetters we have here, makes me proud to be part of it.
