In memory of our lovely Aillidh

At 11.25 last night, our beautiful, 9-year-old daughter died of complications from treatment for acute myeloid leukaemia, she went into respiratory failure after contracting human metapneumo virus following conditioning chemotherapy for stem cell transplant.

For many days, she lingered on a ventilator. But last night, she developed a pneumothorax and rapidly deteriorated.

She died within seconds of the ventilator being taken off.

I can't believe she's gone, or how broken her long body looked.

I've been awol for a while, a real life friend (and Mner) told me.

I am thinking of you all, those who have lost, those who are supporting.

I'm thinking of you & family very much today.

We buried SIL this morning (20th July) she died very unexpectedly last week.
Today (21st) is the 15th anniversary of DSS1 passing away at 14, & tomorrow (22nd) will be DS1 15th birthday.

Not a good week.

I'm in Glasgow, but I'm sorry that I couldn't make it to Aillidh's funeral.

I was at Lambhill for SIL today & A was very much in my thoughts, tomorrow I will be there again & she will be very much in my thoughts too.

Expat, I just saw your latest update on Facebook. It is heartbreaking. I think about you all and little Aillidh everyday. I wish there was something I could say that would help ease your pain. I'm currently knitting and thinking of you and your family Expat...and I think of brave Aillidh when I open my purse and see the Anthony Nolan card there xx I keep writing, deleting and rewriting as I can find no words that sound 'right' ...my thoughts are with you x
