In memory of our lovely Aillidh

At 11.25 last night, our beautiful, 9-year-old daughter died of complications from treatment for acute myeloid leukaemia, she went into respiratory failure after contracting human metapneumo virus following conditioning chemotherapy for stem cell transplant.

For many days, she lingered on a ventilator. But last night, she developed a pneumothorax and rapidly deteriorated.

She died within seconds of the ventilator being taken off.

I can't believe she's gone, or how broken her long body looked.

Thinking of you and praying for you all.
Call Me Maybe came on the radio earlier and following Giraffe sharing that it was one of Aillidh's favourites, it brought a tear to my eye and will always make me think of Aillidh when I hear it.
Wishing you strength for tomorrow.

mathanxiety · 13/07/2012 19:43

((()))) to you all.

I hope you have the strength to move on together and support one another. It is so hard to live through each day after the loss of someone so precious and so dearly loved, especially when death came far too soon. You feel that you have to choose to get though each day alive and you feel terrible for choosing to do so, for having the chance to choose..

Sending much love and many prayers.

LetUsPrey · 13/07/2012 19:53

Sending love and strength for today, tomorrow and every day after.

So very sorry for your loss....xxx

ToothbrushThief · 13/07/2012 21:27

A friend lost her DC to a brain tumour when East 17 were in the charts with Stay.
Baby if you've got to go away
I don't think
I can take the pain
Won't you stay another day
Oh don't leave me alone like this
Won't you stay another day

I never hear it without thinking of Rachel. Call Me maybe will be the same.

LottieJenkins · 13/07/2012 21:33

My angel son Jack was born and died aged two hours on the 22nd December 1994 when Stay another day was born. Most years i hear it on his birthday. Last year it got to 4pm in the afternoon and i thought he was going to let me[s down. I came out of a friends front door, went to go home one way, changed my mind and went the other and as i walked past a workmans van Stay came wafting out of the vans radio!

My best friend is getting married tomorrow she lost her first dh 5 years ago and sends her absolute heartfelt love and best. Losing a partner is not the same as a child but her heart breaks for you. We will say a little prayer tomorrow in church for Aillidh. Xx
