In memory of our lovely Aillidh

At 11.25 last night, our beautiful, 9-year-old daughter died of complications from treatment for acute myeloid leukaemia, she went into respiratory failure after contracting human metapneumo virus following conditioning chemotherapy for stem cell transplant.

For many days, she lingered on a ventilator. But last night, she developed a pneumothorax and rapidly deteriorated.

She died within seconds of the ventilator being taken off.

I can't believe she's gone, or how broken her long body looked.

Oh Expat, I'm thinking of you today, I see from FB that you are going to see Aillidh for the last time. My heart is heavy, heavy, with the thoughts of what you are all going through.

You're not far from my thoughts recently, and that goes for hundreds of us on here.

StealthPolarBear · 13/07/2012 10:58

Thinking of you and your family Expat.

Had to smile at the FB photo - such a gorgeous girl! And so tall.

Such memories that you will keep in your heart forever.

DontSweatTheSmallStuff · 13/07/2012 11:07

D0G, it sounds fine to me. Mine sounds terrible. I meant pointless because nothing I can say will make any difference. We all just want to sent love and prayers and this is the only way most of us can.

ExitPursuedByABear · 13/07/2012 13:54

Will be thinking of you tomorrow Expat.

Stay strong.

I am away this weekend, but you and your family and especially your beautiful Aillidh are never far from my thoughts Expat.

I pray that Aillidh has a magnificent send off, that the sun shines, but the Angels cry and that you all take comfort from wherever you can...God bless you all.

With love from Solo and family.xxx
