Barely had a chance to think today, we were planning on going to a local national trust place with the dcs but as we ended up at the hospital with Ella last night we put it off.
We headed there at about 11pm last night on the advice of nhs direct. They were going to send an ambulance but we didn't feel that was necessary and so drove there dropping the kids at my parents on the way. She's had a cold for ages and seemed to be struggling with her breathing. Her skin was sucking in under her ribs a bit, not as bad as when she was in scbu but it was noticeable.
Hospital were amazing, saw us as soon as we got there. The receptionist got a nurse right away, we explained the problem and they took us straight through and started assessing her. After the initial obs we waited a little for a dr but that was ok.
Thankfully she was fine, calmed down a lot by then, and they were happy with her. They've said she has silent reflux now though, which has been causing a lot of the coughing and gagging apparently so she's back on the infant gaviscon.
So relieved that she was ok and the dr was lovely, she spoke to a pediatrician to double check and they agreed with her about the reflux. She said it was definitely the right thing to do by taking her in to be seen due to her age and prematurity and that if anything changes or gets worse then to take her right back.
Got back home around 2am when she fed and settled quite quickly, she was exhausted by then! She slept from 2.30 until 9am! so surprised as she usually goes 2-3 hours. I'm thinking that was a one off from being so tired though.
We'd planned to visit Scarlett today but couldn't get there either :( She was and is in my thoughts. My parents took her some flowers a few days ago so at least she has some fresh ones there. We'll go tomorrow all things being well I hope. Hoping things settle down for us and that this year becomes very boring and "normal".
Happy Easter, gentle hugs to all xx
