My newborn girl is going to die, not sure what to do now.

I gave birth to our little girl yesterday at 1.15pm. They told almost straight away they thought she had Edward's Syndrome. Now they think her brain just didn't develop. Noone can tell us how long she will be with us, nobody knows.

My two dds are 6 and 4 and were so excited about their baby sister. They are coming to meet her later. How can I tell them she will die?

As she is breathing unaided and tube feeding, they are caring for her in SCBU, but I have said if they can't do anything, I want to bring her home to spend her last time. I wish we knew how long she had.

I think my heart is breaking.

I saw your thread on my phone earlier, just logged back in to send you prayers and strength and saw your update. What amazing news. I really hope that Beatrice grows strong and continues to surprise you!

My DS was very premature, and the docs were concerned early on that he had a genetic problem. He did not, but it was painful enough waiting for those results, I can't imagine how it has been for you. Hope you are taking care of yourself.

Thinking of your family and willing Beatrice on.

sistersootica · 20/09/2011 14:26

O my god! I am crying my eyes out! I am ssoo happy for you! When I looked at the picture of her earlier I thought to myself "she looks so well, how could something so serious be wrong, she's a fighter and she will pull through" I honestly thought that, I am so pleased for you all, what a beautiful family. Cherish every moment as it won't be long before she starts slamming doors in you face as a teenager! :P I can't stop crying! :)
