trust me, it DOES get easier. I lost my dad on December 14th last year, his funeral was the day before Christmas Eve. Someone told me that 3 months on is the worst time for some reason. It was for us as his birthday is March 15th, so there's your 3 months.

We have got through our first Christmas without him, his birthday, Father's Day (we released a card attached to helium balloons so they would reach him on his cloud!), it should have been my parent's Golden Wedding anniversary in the beginning of June also. I think about him every day and miss him loads. But now when I think of him it more often than not isn't with sadness for what we will never share, it is more remembering him with a smile for what we already had shared. We buried half his ashes and are scattering the rest in the places he loved the most - we had 'always remembered with a smile' engraved on his headstone.

He loved fishing and last weekend my sister, my mother and I drove for 9 hours to stay in Scotland for the weekend. We found the exact spot on the river Arne where he caught his first salmon and scattered some of his ashes there. It was a beautiful spot and a beautiful moment.

My screensaver is a big picture of my dad on a sea fishing trip holding a big fish with an even bigger smile on his face.

Now when I look at it I smile rather than cry. I have my moments but they don't feel so raw anymore. I don't know if this is any comfort to you or not yet, hope it is. Give yourself time to grieve, it is a long process but you will come through the other end I promise.

Much love to you.
xx
