Denial is not a river in Egypt.
Dh and I are coming from very different places
Me - Gabriel, Xaviere, Christian, Fabian
Dh - Robert, John, Garry, Lee

It just ain't going to happen is it? Can anybody think of something? Anything? Our other two are Alexandra and Theo.

Jonah
Justin
Jacob
Jude
Dylan
Fraser

You sound like me and my husband - we are poles apart and these are our middle ground, although I am still having to push some of them!! I was hoping for post-labour sympathy but it seems I might not even get that!!

Good luck xx

NotanOtter · 25/08/2009 20:48

Aaron is good

FlouryBap · 25/08/2009 21:50

I am dying to know what he is called - any decisions?

I vote for Kit too BTW

TotallyAndUtterlyPaninied · 25/08/2009 21:55

Leo? Leon? Leonard? Jude?

crockydoodle · 25/08/2009 22:18

George

Doobydoo · 25/08/2009 22:20

Having spent far too long thinking about this
I think that even though my ds1 is called Finn I think that Christopher[Kit] or Gabriel goes best with your other 2 dc's names....which does he look like??

baskingseals · 25/08/2009 22:30

Thanks again guys, still no decision made. I agree Doobydo, I like Finn, but think Christian goes better with the others, I think dh is just winding me up when he says he'll call him Chris - not Kit. Oh well he will eventually get a name.

Doobydoo · 25/08/2009 22:32

Oh sorry I like Christian as well.I have a cousin called Chrstian.Your dh very, very naughty.

NotanOtter · 25/08/2009 22:49

the only christians i have kmown have not been chris - ever

skyward · 26/08/2009 08:13

Love Fabian. Obviously your DH cannot be trusted to come up with anything decent so his contribution should be vetoed for the sake of the child!!!!

TotallyAndUtterlyPaninied · 26/08/2009 09:17

How about 'baby boy' he'll end up being called 'that kid' at this rate

baskingseals · 26/08/2009 09:38

Hi guys, thanks again for all your help - he is actually known as new baby, Theo is only just 2 and has still got baby chub and fairly basic instincts - a boy of simple but exacting needs.
Angrypixie - I feel your pain, well done for phoning around, I just don't understand what is so awful about the name Gabriel, but at least I'm not alone. I also agree that DH cannot be trusted, but what can I do? I think we're at what's called stalemate, every so often I hiss Gabriel at him and he hisses Robert back at me. Really mature.

HHmmmm, are you going to perhaps set a deadline for when new baby should be named?

how about Robin? although I guess probably not.

diddl · 26/08/2009 15:43

I think you should keep trying for Gabriel.
(Or Arlo!!)
Kit is too plain with your other names.

carmenelectra · 26/08/2009 16:04

I adore gabriel and it is top of my list for my ds 3, however, i really dont think im going to get dp to budge on this one.

How can you not like it? He is worried its a bit girly and he will get teased. Ive still got a while to work on him! Managed it with ds when i wanted Jonah and got my own way, but this time im not sure.

Well, they've got six weeks from birth haven't they?!

YES! You are right - You forget all these little things the further away from newborn you get.

baskingseals · 27/08/2009 21:57

According to dh he will hate us forever if we call him Gabriel. I've really got to let it go with both hands, so hard as I still think it's the most perfect name ever. Finn seems to be the one we are compromising on atm. But nothing definite - oh well we've still got 4 weeks.
Thanks so much for all your help - and it has helped - will let you know when we finally commit, god knows how we ever managed to get married.

We had loads of trouble deciding on girls names. Decided that there are hundreds of thousands of names out there, there was bound to be one we would both like! took yonks and ended up with two boys! Finn is nice but in Ireland we use Fionn (fee-un? pronounced "Fee-yown" in Munster Irish) which is much nicer. Famous warrior and would really suit if baby is blonde.

kitsmummy · 27/08/2009 22:57

It has to be Kit
Love, Kitsmummy!

Doctorskidaddle · 28/08/2009 15:51

og god I can't stand it, please tell me you've decided! FWIW I think you have great taste in names and your DH's is awful. Hmm there's a thought, call him Gabriel and swap your DH for a new one??

diddl · 28/08/2009 16:26

LOL at Doctorskidaddle!
It´s a plan, though...!

wheniwishuponastar · 28/08/2009 16:40

i know a gabriel who is in his thirties. its ok, its suits him, but it is a bit of an over-the-top name. maybe it won't be by the time yours is grown, who knows...

TiggyR · 28/08/2009 16:49

How about Kier? Pronounced like the first half of Kieran. Or Hugh?

I love Gabriel - it was on my list for all three of mine. Don't see how it can be any more challenging than Theo! Not that Theo is challenging iyswim, just that they are in similar genre of names, imo.

I like Benedict and your DH can call him Ben if he's a real traditionalist.
