Denial is not a river in Egypt.
Dh and I are coming from very different places
Me - Gabriel, Xaviere, Christian, Fabian
Dh - Robert, John, Garry, Lee

It just ain't going to happen is it? Can anybody think of something? Anything? Our other two are Alexandra and Theo.

Nope, still being really dysfunctional - on many levels. Haven't really discussed it lately. I love Milo, but there is one in close family, same with Louis. What do you think out of Kit and Finn?
Thanks so much for all suggestions - it is helping. Must must FOCUS.

I really like Kit AND Finn
Sorry,not much help!

FimbleHobbs · 24/08/2009 13:16

Congrats on new baby.

I would go for Kit over Finn, purely on syllables.

Your DC1 has 4, DC2=2, so imho it would be nice for DC3 to have more than 1.

Is your DH picking names he randomly likes or are they all from a football team or something? They sound like they are from the same sort of era - if there is a reason behind his suggestions there could be scope to expand this into a wider range of names?

Although, I do love Bertie - could you have a Robert thats a Bertie?

seeker · 24/08/2009 13:20

Christopher shortened to Kit is LOVELY. If you really don't want Patrick, that is!

emma2617 · 24/08/2009 13:29

I had the names Finn, Cian and Luca when I was pregnant (Luca was my partners least favourite!!) but after s horrible labour, crash section and baby in NICU I got my own way and now have my little boy Luca!!

I really like Finn though...but it is quite popular now, much like Luca seems to be!!

screamingabdab · 24/08/2009 17:42

Congratulations. I love Luca

Hope you and the baby are doing OK

MuppetsMuggle · 24/08/2009 17:51

I love Finn, it was on my shortlist

I also love Reuben as its a family name.

diddl · 24/08/2009 18:11

Is it resolved yet?
Prefer Finn to Kit, although on the whole don´t like one syllable names.

diddl · 24/08/2009 18:14

Jacob, Harvey, Silas?

baskingseals · 24/08/2009 19:00

No not resolved. Do like Patrick, but DH has a cousin called that. I know what you mean about his random name choices. A lot of them are old family names. I only got away with Theo because his mum had a great uncle Theo - pity she hasn't got a great uncle Gabriel stashed away somewhere.

Hubbys name or middle name or a variant of either?

Phoenix · 24/08/2009 19:21

I have a 6wk old Noah and Ds1 is Lewis.

Congrats and hope you can make a decision soon.

diddl · 24/08/2009 20:14

Arlo,
Xander,
Lorenzo,
Lysander,
Hamish.

MermaidSpam · 24/08/2009 20:16

I love the name Finlay (shortened to Finn), sounds really cool = you couldn't be a chav with the name Finn!

tattycoram · 24/08/2009 20:23

Kit is lovely.

Andrea157 · 24/08/2009 20:26

Perhaps Matthew or Lewis.

diddl · 24/08/2009 20:30

Oops!
Forgot your daughters name is Alexandra, so most of my previous post is no good.
Matthew, yesthat´s a nice name.

MajorMajor · 24/08/2009 20:34

Seems clear to me that the name of your ds2 should be Rex

NotanOtter · 24/08/2009 20:37

basking - I too have an Alexnadra and Theodore I also have one of your choices as a middle name on one of my others

I would go for ANY of your choices and NONE of your dhs!

thisisyesterday · 24/08/2009 20:44

have you chosen one yet?

you have excellent taste in names!
i have a Gabriel
ds1 was nearly Finn, and ds3 was very, very nearly Nico (may still be)

ds3 is actually Asa Nicholas, how about that? (incidentally my DP was absolutely dead against Asa but i wore him down)

i can't remember most of my long boys lists but here are a few off the top of my head

Lucien
Tobias
Linus
Otto
Anton
Noam
Soren
Lars

NotanOtter · 24/08/2009 20:47

thisisyesterday - me too

by the time you have done three boys names and middle names you start to become an expert!

shootfromthehip · 24/08/2009 20:55

Tobias (toby) is a fabulous name. Or Hector.

Sad about the Gabriel thing too- I love that name.

Jonah is my very best favourite name though

NotanOtter · 24/08/2009 21:02

caleb goes nicely

Arthur too
