just came across a child i thought was named Christian. nice name thinks i.

until i seer the spelling.

Krisjan.

what an unusual spelling i think, maybe it is some regional spelling and the parents are foreign or something. so i ask mum where the name comes from.

"oh its from my husband kris and myself Janet. we made it up" all proud like.

I think it makes him sound exotic

Shambolic · 01/04/2009 12:23

The name-splicing thing was pioneered by Jordan and Peter Andre, as far as I am aware.

So how anyone could say it is not a classy thing to do is beyond me.

TMMJ I am impressed with your knowledge of the history of name-splicing. You must be quite classy yourself

frazzledazzle · 01/04/2009 12:47

What about Malandra Burrows?
She was named after her parents Malcolm and Sandra.

Dh's is Viodav

Shambolic · 01/04/2009 12:52

Where would name splicing get you lot?

Here chez shambles, DD would have been called Jalen, which I think has a nice ring to it...

Lizzylou · 01/04/2009 12:52

Aaaah, Malandra
Wonder what she's up to now?

LauriefairycakeeatsCupid · 01/04/2009 12:55

so if Charles and Avril call their son CHAV that would be ok?

Simplysally · 01/04/2009 13:03

Didn't some pop "star" name his son Rayn after himself? .

Shambolic · 01/04/2009 13:05

Avles pronounced Ah-vlay is so much nicer though. It has a continental ring to it.

Chav is a bit gutteral and abrupt for my liking.

Maybe Chavelle and chav for short?

troutpout · 01/04/2009 13:15

i heard a carlisa the other day

KingRoloEgg · 01/04/2009 13:19
