just came across a child i thought was named Christian. nice name thinks i.

until i seer the spelling.

Krisjan.

what an unusual spelling i think, maybe it is some regional spelling and the parents are foreign or something. so i ask mum where the name comes from.

"oh its from my husband kris and myself Janet. we made it up" all proud like.

Sarim has nice middle-eastern vibe to it...

Maybe there is something in this name-splicing after all!

angelene · 01/04/2009 13:40

I would have a Stutie!

ceebie · 01/04/2009 13:42

Hmm. Maybe I should name this baby Clob. Or Raire?

Righteo. Names for this child and next sorted.

ihearthuckabees · 01/04/2009 13:50

Matsty or Kirshew anyone?

Shambolic · 01/04/2009 13:52

I used to like Nic Kirshew in the 80's...

ScottishThistle · 01/04/2009 14:07

Name splicing huh ~ may be something it it.

I could have been Finna or Lorlay (quite nice actually)

KingRoloEgg · 01/04/2009 14:10

Nancy66 · 01/04/2009 14:12

Better than Jermajesty - jermaine jackson's kid

fattiemumma · 01/04/2009 14:13

Pissing myself at Anal!

cory · 01/04/2009 14:14

Krisjan is how Christian is pronounced in Denmark; I suppose some Danes may spell it that way though I've never seen it.

Simplysally · 01/04/2009 15:12

My dd would be Lira or Raysa.

nickytwotimes · 01/04/2009 15:15

My very first boyfriend's house was named (by his parents) after him and his sister.

It was called Garline.

They thought it was lovely.

Needless to say, it didn't last.

Simplysally · 01/04/2009 15:16

I worked for a company that the Chairman (and previous MD) named after his son.

It's still around today .

MrsY · 01/04/2009 15:20

nickytwotimes A friend of mine at primary school lived in ^Lorlisa Cottage*...

Why?

thumbbunny · 01/04/2009 15:20

George Foreman always wins the vanity contest though - all his sons are also called George.

If my parents had done this, I would have been Bryeen or Mauran - eep. DH would have been Joy or Kahn. Both our names are too short and similar to do this so DS would have got off lightly!

duchesse · 01/04/2009 15:23

Yeah, well, my real life name is Pestine. What's wrong with it?

duchesse · 01/04/2009 15:24

Arguably though my brother Criter got the wrong combination...

nickytwotimes · 01/04/2009 15:24

Hmm, I can hazard a guess.

Shambolic · 01/04/2009 15:57

Nigel/Nigella anyone?

Nancy66 · 01/04/2009 17:00

or you can always just give them your name and stick a royal title at the front: Eg Michael jackson and Prince Michael.

Leannabanana · 01/04/2009 20:02

ha ha crack up....mine would be Davlea....sounds like a portable toilet....

chegirl · 01/04/2009 20:14

That telly blonde who used to be on Emerdale was called Malandra because her Dad was Malcom (snork) and her mum Sandra.

I have a little boy. He is fab (of course ) He has quite a lot of problems due to his birth mother's lack of care (ie he almost starved to death) We know her, unfortunately she is related to us. Anyhoo. She had another child a couple of years ago. Guess what? She named her EXACTLY after herself. Say her name is Hannah Louise Emma Carly - Jo(it isnt, I am not that vengful indiscrete ). The baby is also called Hannah Louise Emma Carly-Jo

Ahh sweet.

ItsMargotBeauregarde · 01/04/2009 22:14

it's bad but I've heard worse.

purpleduck · 01/04/2009 22:23
