just came across a child i thought was named Christian. nice name thinks i.

until i seer the spelling.

Krisjan.

what an unusual spelling i think, maybe it is some regional spelling and the parents are foreign or something. so i ask mum where the name comes from.

"oh its from my husband kris and myself Janet. we made it up" all proud like.

When I was younger I worked in a reggae club (where I met OH). There were a lot of young guys called Junior. They called themselves Junior because they were named after their dads. Their dads being born in the 30- 40s were called things like Ceecil, Huburt, Cyril etc.

Didnt really go with the cool bad bwoy image .

My OH has a very posh sounding unsual old English name. Bless him. He has been known by a short version of his surname all his working life.

ceebie · 02/04/2009 15:58

I know a man who has three given names.

He also has 3 sons.

They have a name of his each.

I also know a girl with a unisex name. Her son is Her Name-His Name Surname.

BikeRunSki · 02/04/2009 17:06

I would be Jenical. DS would be Adice - like Addis, the folk who make mops and buckets!

Shambolic · 02/04/2009 20:42

I am pathetically pleased that so many people have joined in the name-splicing challenge!

To go back to the next generation...

I would be Rulia, and my DB would be J'Chard.

DH would be K'len (v star trek!)

His DB would be Heleth,

His DD would be (for various reasons) Jenneth. Not bad!

blushingm · 04/04/2009 10:05

And yes it's pronounced like the metal.

LadyOfWaffle · 04/04/2009 11:29

Ours would be... Greah (pronounced Greer?) or... Saregg. Saegg? I like Malandra (not for any of my DCs, just as a name...)
