...brothers Thomas and George, also have a strong boys name as a surname that begins with O, so we have to be careful with initials.

I am looking for something different to Max and Jack, but as nice as them, maybe a little bit wacky but not too much, and deffo not poncey (I am a Southerner in the North West, I have to be careful with my accent) We have been through countless name books/websites and not hit on the one yet, so it's over to you lot!

To give an idea, my favourites are Seth, Seb(astian), Albert (Albie), DH likes Charlie and Harrison, neither of us like each others (Well to be fair, I love Harrison, but I don't like 'Arrison, which is what it becomes up here!)

Could Guy be short for something? Gregory or Gideon?

I know what about Gaius. I can't do the little two dots over the i. I love names that end in s. Fergus, Magnus, Marcus, Julius and I've just added Gaius to my list.

'my' list?! I'm not prg!

We agreed pretty easily with the first two boys, had trouble with DS2's middle name for a while, but I guess we are running out of ideas now!

Already have a David in the family. And it is still a bit too 'normal' for my liking.

Alistair?
Solomon?

TheNewsMongersGeansaiNollag · 02/12/2008 17:25

Patrick and Peter are very classic and unusual.

David is just tooooo boring for me. Everybody has an x called David, or a boss, or a husband or a father-in-law or a brother-in-law.

I'm not ready for DAvid to come back yet!

Christopher Stephen is my dad's names, and I couldn't use them.

Patrick is my Grandad's name and is already being used by my sister's DS. Which is a shame because I really like Paddy.

I quite like Hubert, but Hewie (is that how you'd spell it? Mind gone blank) but DH says no.

Think the others on your list would be too poncey, though I love love love Luca.

Hughie is nice and less poncey than Hugo.

hi, what about jonathan. (johnny) its lovely (my ds has this name!) plus his middle name starts with an o.
so in your case to have o as his surname would be good.

David

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 02/12/2008 17:43

Yep, love Hughie, love Albert, Stan is growing on me, DS2's middle name is John so Jonathan might be a bit too close to that?

I need to do dinner, but will keep checking in between.

kayzisexpecting · 02/12/2008 17:46

Don't like Stan.

subtlemouse · 02/12/2008 17:56

John

No-one is called it anymore

subtlemouse · 02/12/2008 17:56

Except obviously my boy and your ds's middle - pay attention Subtlemouse!

subtlemouse · 02/12/2008 17:58

Sorry to triple post, but Stan??? And in the North-West? Surely I'm not the only one old enough to remember Stan Ogden, Hilda's long-suffering slob? Guilt by permanent association...

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 02/12/2008 17:58

LOL
