...brothers Thomas and George, also have a strong boys name as a surname that begins with O, so we have to be careful with initials.

I am looking for something different to Max and Jack, but as nice as them, maybe a little bit wacky but not too much, and deffo not poncey (I am a Southerner in the North West, I have to be careful with my accent) We have been through countless name books/websites and not hit on the one yet, so it's over to you lot!

To give an idea, my favourites are Seth, Seb(astian), Albert (Albie), DH likes Charlie and Harrison, neither of us like each others (Well to be fair, I love Harrison, but I don't like 'Arrison, which is what it becomes up here!)

Yes I think my favourites are either Albert, Sebastian or Rudy, I have asked him if he could let any of them grow on him and he is adament it's not going to happen.

It wouldn't be as bad if he'd come up with some things himself, but obviously that is too much to ask!

I love Gabriel and Monty but my dp won't even consider them (not that I am pregnant so I guess it is fairly irrelevant!)

All lovely strong biblical names so not poncey either.

Not sure you should have Harrison when you already have a George. Speaking as one with a North West accent, I agree that the H's do tend to get lost in translation up here.

How about Thomas, George and Joe?

I'm not giving up til we find you a name. DH and I have never agreed on boy's names Fortunately we have a DD - I am dreading this pg being a boy purely because it would be nameless.

findtheriver · 03/12/2008 20:52

I don't think nataliejane really wants us to find her a name!
She wants to watch us run through every conceivable name in the book!

katie789 · 03/12/2008 20:57

How about Rowan? Irish name. Also a type of tree with red berries. It's pronouncable, but unusual.

I'm pregnant, and would use it myself, if it wasn't already a family member!

Sebastian is commonly shortened to Bastian in Germany, which you presumably wouldnt want.

Nighbynight · 03/12/2008 21:40

Actually, just realised that your other choice is also a B (Albert / Bertie)!
