I don’t think my baby will ever have a name

Please help!

I have been a long time lurker but have signed up for some help. My baby boy is due in 6 weeks and we have no names. I have scrolled through thousands of names and I think they are now all becoming meaningless but it’s making me
panic about naming our little boy. Any names I do like, DH doesn’t and vice versa. We both want a name we both like.

DH likes Apollo and Dawson???
I like Jasper, Felix and August.
Both would like something less common (I know my choices are more popular at the moment but just giving an idea of sound / style I like)

Any suggestions are welcome - we probably won’t use the names I’ve given as we don’t agree on them but opinions on those welcome
too.

Thank you

I work with an Augustine, in his 40s. It suits him, though everyone calls him Gus.

I will say though that names generally seem to be becoming a bit more 'out there', for boys especially. Since having DD I've come across boys called Atlas, Silas, Rowan, Atticus, Otis, River, Magnus, Quinn and even Cosmo. I don't think any of your names would cross over into 'common' but tbh I'd be more surprised to meet a Colin than a Jasper these days.😂

Good luck, and there's no harm in seeing what the little fella looks like when he comes out, you might know immediately when you see him what is name is. My relative was called Phoebe all the way through her mum's pregnancy with her, but when she was born her parents didn't think she looked like a Phoebe at all and now she's a Fearne!

I liked Eldon. It’s more common in Canada than the UK. My husband liked Rory. In the end we had a girl and called her something we had not even considered beforehand.

I thought you were going to say your baby was born and you couldn’t agree on a name! Honestly sometimes once you meet them you know.
I don’t really care for any of those names. But I suppose it’s a very personal thing and I’m not really a fan of names that are too ‘out there’ or quirky. I’m a fan of normal names. please don’t call your child Apollo or August they are dreadful!

My favourite name at the minute for a boy is Jude. It sort of fits your wish for something a bit different but it’s not too out there.

Apollo is a gladiator 😕

August is quite nice. Gus is a decent NN.

I actually love the name Peter. It means rock, something steady and trustworthy. He’ll be the only one. Pete or Petey are also cool. It’s biblical - so will never be chav.

Gulliver, Cosmo, Laurence, Caspian, Tate, Tudor, Arthur, Solomon, Mortimer
