Which middle name goes best with Agnes?

Looking for a middle name for Agnes and was wondering what the general public thinks of these:

As you can see from the poll I have a thing for names that start with an E 😜

I agree. I really like names that flow well (not everyone is bothered by it though) and although the names are individually nice, they don't flow together. These might work as a middle?

Agnes Elise is the only one with a good flow.

My very first thought was Jane.
Agnes Jane is defiantly no nonsense and therefore very cool.

My DM who is called Agnes would tell you to find another name. She hates it! Thankfully she has always been called Nancy.

Some of you had some great new suggestions on middle names, unfortunately we are already decided on Agnes so that won't change 😂

I like Eliza, but I like Elise more.
I also like Vilhelmina, but it's just a bit long...

I like the traditional English spelling of Elise (rather than Elyse which makes me think of the Champs Elysee or Elysee Palace). Though it is an old form.

I still think Agnes Elise.

My grandmother, (if she were alive would be 140) was called Agnes May. Everyone called her Aggie

Love the name Agnes. Agnes Rose was my first thought before reading your list

Agnes Sophia is lovely

Agnes Sophia is beautiful. The 2 syllables, followed by 3 syllables flows really nicely and Sophia softens the sound of Agnes.

Plus if you are choosing middle names for non-family/friend honouring reasons, then I always think it’s nice to find a middle name that’s a bit different in style to the first name. So in this case you would have less popular, but very hipster cool Agnes followed by very popular but more classic sounding Sophia. If Sophia hadn’t been a choice I’d have suggested something similar in style to it like Isabel, or maybe Louisa would also work well (I think Lovisa is nice but a bit too uncommon like Agnes).

I don’t know anyone in their 80s called those names (they are all called Barbara, Susan, Eileen, Joan etc) - I think those names are another generation back - so maybe born in about 1910.

I like the Spanish version Ines. I also can barely remember my DCs middle names - not sure what the point is unless you want to honour a family member.

I’m a teacher and Nancy, Betty, Margot, Mabel etc all featuring heavily now. I think Agnes is nicer than all of those. I like Agnes Elizabeth.

I had a great-aunt Edith. She'd be about 120 now. 80-somethings would have names like Margaret, Betty (Elizabeth), Jean, Joan, Janet. Susan etc.

It depends on some extent on how it scans with your surname. I’m sure you don’t want to tell us your actual surname but does it have the same number or syllables as:
Smith; Johnson; Williams: Hetherington?

Prefer Agnes Iris though - I think Agnes doesn’t go as well with an “E” name sorry!
