Mia Wren?

Gosh I am struggling for a middle name!!

What do you think? Any one syllable middle name options to go with Mia would be appreciated please!

I loooove Mia Rose, even though it’s a safe option but can’t use it for various reasons.

I’d like to keep one syllable if possible as we have a mouthful of a surname so flows better and is in keeping with my other two children (but not totally opposed to longer middle names if they go)

others we considered

Mia Beau
Beau was actually our top choice first name if we were to have a boy

Mia Belle
I love this but my husband thinks it just sounds like ‘me a bell’ 🤣

Mia Elle
Just a thought as an alternative to above but not loving it

Mia Lise

Mia Wren - Mere N
Mia Beau - awful
Mia Belle - Mere bell, me a bell(end?)
Mia Elle - Mere L
Mia Lise - nothingy, but it's the best of a bad bunch

It probably doesn't help that I don't really like Mia or 1 syllable middle names, but in the spirit of OP's thread, I suggest Mia Fleur.

Given that middle names aren't used much, I'd go for a shortish name in terms of letters, but that might be 2 syllables. Something like Mia Lois.

Culpa?

But that would be Mea.

Yes, I think we grasped that.

KnickerlessParsons · 16/07/2025 09:31

Mia Joan

I like Mia Lise, Grace or Rosa.

I think Wren is awful.

OP, it really really doesn’t matter. Almost no one ever uses their middle name so as long as it isn’t silly then just use what ever name you like the most. It doesn’t matter a jot whether it flows with the first name or full name.

Heavens!

A human gets one life. Surely the OP owes it to her daughter to give her the best, most considered and most beautiful name she can possibly manage? “It really doesn’t matter” is an utterly shitty approach to something with such lifelong significance.

Of course it matters!

summersolsticesoon · 16/07/2025 10:03

Mia Grace

GhastlyGoodTaste · 16/07/2025 10:05

(I have three forenames and use the first two interchangeably, according to context. And sometimes my entire list of forenames and surnames, where relevant. They’ve been unceasingly commented on across six decades.)

Why can you not use Mia Rose? Mia Wren is awful - sorry. Blush

Agree with the above poster. It clearly 'really does matter' to the OP!

I think you need to read my post again. I said she should choose the name she likes the most not pick one at random. What I said didn’t matter was whether or not the middle name flows with the other names, That’s what the OP is agonising over.

Mia Lucy - two syllables but still works with Banana-Hammock-Johnston-Smith.

🤣🤣 thank you!

I would go for something with a longer sounding middle name like Mia Gabriella/Florence/Evelyn.

Do you really not have a single significant name in your extended families that you could use? Everything suggested seems (in the context of not being specific to you) arbitrary and a bit generic. (Obviously those names will be individual to their owners.)

I have a son and daughter, James is my sons middle name which is a name used traditionally in every generation of his family. My daughters middle name is May after my maiden name (and she was born in May so just felt fitting)

My sister (who is yet to have children!) picked out the name Rosa for a future daughter since we were kids and it’s just too similar.

I know a lot of people won’t agree on this, especially as it’s not the exact same name and I’m only using as a middle name but to me it’s just an unwritten rule you wouldn’t pick a name (or very similar) from someone’s shortlist who you are close too. I know I’d have been gutted if she chose a name similar to my son or daughters before I got to use it

Your sister might never have a daughter, she might have sons. She might change her mind. She might even call her daughter Mia May.

MischiefandMayhemManaged · 16/07/2025 10:35

I like Mia Grace!
Or Mia Elizabeth!
Mia wren.. I can see people going "why are you named after a bird???"

Imogen but OH hates it 😭

We also had Freya, Edie and Amelia on our shortlist

OP posts:
HugoYorway · 16/07/2025 10:53

Oh it's you. Call her Mia Imogen. Your DH got to pick the first name. Middle names rarely get used anyway, and it's far better than the list in your OP.
