Mia Wren?

Gosh I am struggling for a middle name!!

What do you think? Any one syllable middle name options to go with Mia would be appreciated please!

I loooove Mia Rose, even though it’s a safe option but can’t use it for various reasons.

I’d like to keep one syllable if possible as we have a mouthful of a surname so flows better and is in keeping with my other two children (but not totally opposed to longer middle names if they go)

others we considered

Mia Beau
Beau was actually our top choice first name if we were to have a boy

Mia Belle
I love this but my husband thinks it just sounds like ‘me a bell’ 🤣

Mia Elle
Just a thought as an alternative to above but not loving it

Mia Lise

Oh it's you. Call her Mia Imogen. Your DH got to pick the first name. Middle names rarely get used anyway, and it's far better than the list in your OP.

Thank you! Yea it is me, again 😆 everyone said Mia Imogen didn’t flow on the other thread would hate to give a name that sounded stupid

Joan would be cool.

Mia Joan St Fiddlesticks von Biederock Crane …

I have a Mia and a Joan!

Momstermash94 · 16/07/2025 11:00

Mia Rose

HugoYorway · 16/07/2025 11:01

It doesn't sound stupid. Something like Mia Wren, Mia Beau etc are bad.

Glittercar · 16/07/2025 11:03

Mia Grace sounds the nicest
But I can’t see the issue with her having a similar middle name to her (as yet non existent) cousin. It’s quite a nice bond if anything.

Gloschick · 16/07/2025 11:09

I like Mia and Wren but not together. How about Mia Kate?

theunbreakablecleopatrajones · 16/07/2025 11:14

I think you’re much better with two syllables

Mia Sophie
Mia Evelyn
Mia Charlotte
Mia Frances

Mia Wren sounds awkward and abrupt - if you are really set on one then go for something softer:

Mia Blanche
Mia Eve
Maeve and Maud if you don’t mind alliteration
Grace, May Rose work also, but they are very very very overdone

Beau, Belle and Elle all sound weird because they could all be a single name - Miabelle -

Lise is German and just pronounced Lisa so that’s going to be confusing

It sounds a lot better than Mia Wren - it’s the kind of name a teenager would give their child

Weren’t you considering Imogen? I’d go for that - much less overdone than Mia

Namechange6578 · 16/07/2025 11:22

I like these...

Mia Louise
Mia Grace
Mia Jane
Mia Beth
Mia Charlotte
Mia Faith
Mia Ruby
Mia Sophie

I agree Imogen doesn't flow that well because of the double vowels, but actually how often do we say our full names?

CampCrow · 16/07/2025 11:26

If your husband chose Mia then you should chose Imogen. They are BOTH beautiful names. They sound nice together because they are both lovely names. As I said earlier it wouldn’t matter if they didn’t flow as NO ONE uses their whole name at once. New parents might but that’s it. You are massively overthinking this.

CampCrow · 16/07/2025 11:30

Lise is also a French name but it’s pronounced Lease. I almost called my 2nd DD Lise but didn’t as I thought it might be confusing. I still think it’s a lovely name.

EdisinBurgh · 16/07/2025 11:38

I’d put a wager that her middle names will be said out loud publicly fewer than five times in the person’s entire life.

The “flow” is arbitrary and irrelevant. But if it helps you narrow down the name in absence of something you love or that has a meaning for your family, then do it!

Personally I’d choose a name which has a story, a meaning, an importance to it. Regardless of vowels, consonants or syllables. They’re merely letters in a random order to make a random sound.

cobrakaieaglefang · 16/07/2025 11:43

Mia Jennifer..(Jenny Wren) 😉

anothercortisolqueen · 16/07/2025 11:46

Thank you! We loved Mia Bella, and actually agreed, but this also got questionable feedback on a previous post 😆

I’m bias as my dd is Mia Ellen Lily 😊.

I had a few girls names in mind, but when she was delivered by c section, they put her on my chest and out of no where I got the name Mia and that was that.

i like Mia Bella, as it translates to ‘mine’ or ‘my’ ‘Beautiful’ if Italian

Moreteaandchocolate · 16/07/2025 13:43

Mia Imogen would be my pick - I still think it’s lovely ☺️

Is Wren a name? It just makes me think of bluetit! If you want one syllable why not choose something more traditional like Lyn or Ann or Claire?

A friend has just called their daughter Madison Wren. The "Wren" was a nod to the sadly departed Grandmother who was called Karen, but nobody uses that moniker any longer for obvious reasons. I think it's a lovely name.

What a shame. Karen is a far nicer name than Wren, but of course, the former has been misappropriated. I would perhaps of gone for Kara in the circumstances, or Karina.

That’s hilarious, particularly as no one is likely to make any connection to the departed grandmother unless she keeps pointing out to all and sundry out that giving your child the name of a small, brien bird is really, kind of, if you squint, short for ‘Karen’.

motherofbantams · 16/07/2025 18:58

The Italian for wren is scricciolo (sound like scritch yolo said fast) - which is such a lovely word to say.
Mia Adaline is nice

HugoYorway · 16/07/2025 19:01

Mia Adaline will be Mere Radaline.

SheridansPortSalut · 16/07/2025 19:02

She's never going to use her middle name. Don't tie yourself in knots over it.

Ymamiss · 16/07/2025 19:04

I like Mia James!

SilenceOfTheTimTams · 16/07/2025 19:05

OK. I get that Culpa isn’t considered a runner.

How about Cat (as a shortened form of the lovely name Catherine) or the more exotic, Bagatelle?
