Is Connie Clyde a nice name?

We have been using the name Connie for our baby girl bump most of the pregnancy and I really love it however I am worried that it doesn’t go with our surname Clyde.
is it too similar to the Bonnie & Clyde reference or do you think people will not associate the two?
we are thinking middle name Mae. Are surnames really that important to consider?

OP posts:

BingoWasHisNameOo · 06/07/2025 21:55

I did think Bonnie and Clyde automatically I’m afraid!!

VictorianScreenTime · 06/07/2025 21:55

I thought Bonnie and Clyde too!

ScratCat · 06/07/2025 21:56

No, sounds ridiculous with your surname.

Wirdle · 06/07/2025 21:56

You can't!
Though it does sound lovely

IReallyLoveItHere · 06/07/2025 21:57

Bonnie Blue came straight to my mind - not an association you want!

Spies · 06/07/2025 21:57

No, it's a lovely name but you honestly can't with that surname.

FKAT · 06/07/2025 21:57

If you want your daughter to be a depression era armed robber, go for it.

McCartneyOnTheHeath · 06/07/2025 21:58

You can't do that to the poor bairn!

Radionowhere · 06/07/2025 22:00

People would get used to it but expect raised eyebrows and the odd chuckle.

TheyFuckYouUpYourMamAndDad · 06/07/2025 22:00

Please don’t 🥴

BCBird · 06/07/2025 22:00

Noooo. The name Constance is lovely but doesn't go with your surname. Could you put it as a middle name?

user1478188491 · 06/07/2025 22:00

Nope Bonnie and Clyde came to mind straight away!

youreactinglikeafunmum · 06/07/2025 22:00

I'm sorry, no, it gives off criminal vibes xx

Moreteaandchocolate · 06/07/2025 22:03

Sorry I don’t think you can.

Wemdubz · 06/07/2025 22:04

Bonnie and Clyde didn’t immediately spring to mind for me. You could go Connie-Mae Clyde which may break it up a bit?

Plantladylover · 06/07/2025 22:04

Oh lord no nit at all. Bonnie and Clyde.

You'd be setting your child up for a lifetime of piss taking

Foreverm0re · 06/07/2025 22:06

Instantly thought of Bonnie and Clyde, sorry.

BoleynMemories13 · 06/07/2025 22:30

Surely this can't be real? But just incase it is... no, you definitely can't do that to a child. EVERYONE will make the Bonnie and Clyde association.

Firsttimebabymummy · 06/07/2025 23:20

Agree with everyone else!

Suggestion- Nancy Clyde?

What other names do you like?

Morgenrot25 · 06/07/2025 23:22

Sorry, another one who immediately went 'Bonnie and Clyde'. 😬

Andoutcomethewolves · 06/07/2025 23:34

Yes sorry OP my mind just went directly to Bonnie and Clyde.

Are you looking for other suggestions? I think Cara would be nice if you want the alliteration!

Inthesmallclouds · 06/07/2025 23:36

I really hate the name Connie

BollickyBill · 06/07/2025 23:37

No.....just no 🙈

KidsDoBetter · 06/07/2025 23:37

Please don’t.

AuntMarch · 06/07/2025 23:40

Sorry OP, I'm with everyone else. It sounds like a sketch character criminal.
