I love Evangeline. Wordsworth Longfellow AND the Icicle Works. My son is quite proud it would have been his name were he not he and - instead - a different person and girl child.

Sorry, I don't really like it but then I don't really like many names ending in ie and this one (along with Dolcie) seems particularly over-sweet and childish. Not a strong name in my opinion. However, lots of people like it, it's fairly popular now so shouldn't be unheard of and isn't offensive at all. If you love it, go for it.
