Dulcie is such a pretty name. Not Dolcie though.

We have a 16 year old daughter called Dulcie. It's unusual, but not weird. We love it for her.

Dulcie is lovely.

There's no 'dull' sound in the name, it's dol-see, so I don't see the problem. I use to teach a Dulcie and nobody called her dull. Dolly is the obvious nickname for when she's little.

Why limit yourself to D names though? Is there anything else you like?

Delilah is ok. Dakota is dreadful though.

I knew an old lady in her 80s with that name. Her twin was called Dora which wasn't much better. How about Daisy or Danielle?

There was a Dulcie in my older sisters year at school and she was known as Dolly.

Not so keen on Delia as it reminds me of Delia Smith who is a saint in the kitchen and a slightly ludicrous human being in a football stadium!

It’s very cute but I’m not sure it would suit me as an adult. Darcey has a bit more of a teen / adult friendly sound to me.

I think it's quite a nice name, a little twee (but that might be my association with it and the musical), but generally a good name.

My favourite from your list is the superb - Dulcie.
Sweet, not too popular and goes well with other names.
Dulcie is more timeless than Delilah, Dahlia and Dakota.

I know a Dulcie. She is a lovely little girl. I really like it as a name. One of those old fashioned names that has really made a come back, but Dulcie hasn’t been as popular as the others.

No. I get you want an unusual name but that kid is in for a lifetime of mispronunciation and misspelling.

I hear dull too and while okay for a baby/kid being called sweet as you name when you are an adult just no.

How on earth is a difficult name to pronounce?

I get really fed up with MN saying you can’t have a name which could be mispronounced. Surely you’ve experienced the world and people from different cultures/regions of the world with names which are not English and coped 😵‍💫
