36 weeks pregnant and the sex of the baby is a surprise.

For a boy we love Harry and that will be his name.

Girls is the struggle. We can't have/don't want another L name, which rules out names we like such as Lilian. Our surname is also a colour, so we don't want a flower or gem.

Don't like anything too twee or floral sounding. Would like something feminine and strong, like Lyra....

Names we like but won't use:
Lilian
Ruby
Charlotte
Sienna
Violet
Harper

Names we like and might potentially use:
Bridget (Bridie)
Nina
Harriet (Hattie)
Eloise

If anyone has any other suggestions please give me your thoughts!

Oh I really like Hera! I think we would be more inclined to use as a middle name though...

I love Aurora with the shortening Rory. I also really like Elodie, but I think it may be too 'pretty' if that makes any sense

Hero?

Estella? Very Dickensian so goes with literary theme

PosiePerkinPootleFlump · 19/12/2024 17:42

You could have Hester and have Hettie as a nickname.

or how about Astrid?

theotherfossilsister · 19/12/2024 17:48

I think of Lyra as literary, because of the novels, so other literary names might be

Emma
Roberta (the railway children)
Lucy (Narnia, overused but lovely name)
Matilda
Hermione (Harry Potter but also Greek myth and Shakespeare)
Posy or Petrova (ballet shoes, I love Petrova but no way would my partner let me use it)

Juno just reminds me of the team pregnancy film 😅
