PennyLane335 · 21/10/2024 19:09

I am expecting baby number 3 early next year and we are not finding out the gender so I need suggestions of boys and girls names.

Baby number 3 will be sibling to Sloane (girl) and Miller (boy).

Names we like (but are set on) so you can get our vibe-

Boys

  • Archer
  • Henley
  • Cash
  • Lennox

Girls

  • Elara
  • Delaney
  • Lennie
  • Gia

@MarvellousMonsters there's a constructive way to put forward your point without a nasty tone.

I doubt they meant to be nasty. A bit tactless perhaps and too direct.

To be completely honest, I thought exactly the same thing even before I read that comment. That if you pick another "surname as a first name" they're going to sound like a firm of solicitors. I'm not saying this to be rude, but to highlight the possibility of it being a fairly common reaction to your kids' names forevermore if you choose to go down that route.

I would probably go for something that didn't make them sound like a firm of solicitors, so that's all your boys' names and half your girls names out.

Took the words right out of my mouth.

No need to get salty @PennyLane335 Sloane and Miller sounds exactly like a firm of solicitors.

I really don't like most of your choices of boys names, and I would say you do you. But you are choosing a name for someone else. Please think about this before you saddle a boy with an awful name like Devlin or Cash!

PennyLane335 · 21/10/2024 20:56

@Sandysandwich ahh Sutton is perfection! Blush

Sloane, Miller, and Sutton?! 😬

ScarletWitchM · 21/10/2024 20:57

Ferris

PennyLane335 · 21/10/2024 20:57

@Fargo79 fair enough!

It wasn't even a thought when we picked our first two kiddos names! Sloane was a name we loved for a girl (big Ferris Bueller fans) and Miller was my mums maiden name.

Isn't it better to have people point this out before you saddle your child with a name that they'll/you'll regret?

People and their parents can regret any name. Anne, Jane, Emily, Robert, George, Edward, whatever...

For "saddle your child with a name that they'll/you'll regret," I think you meant to say, "give your child a name I don't approve of".

PennyLane335 · 21/10/2024 20:59

@LikeWhoUsesTypewritersAnyway yep love Sutton! Gorgeous.

@PoppysAunt aw I really liked Cash !! I know another little one called Cash and he is so cool!

I know you're thinking of Johnny Cash, but it just makes me think of Bangers and Cash!
How about Camden?

PennyLane335 · 21/10/2024 20:50

@Mipil oh love Tate and Tatum actually

Tate is a huge no right now surely thanks to everyone’s favourite baldy misogynist shithead?!

OP your names aren’t going to be to everyone’s taste, but I hope I’m not dissing them by saying, if I were you I’d go a bit softer for no3, especially for a girl. Sisters called Sloane and Delaney = very impersonal sounding, quite harsh, yes sounds a bit like a firm of accountants! Sisters called Sloane and Blythe - retro Americana, quite cool. So that’s where I’m at with your girl names! Blythe, Blanche, Dora, Willa.

for a boy -
Sloane, Miller and Heath
Sloane, Miller and Bruno
Sloane, Miller and Conrad
Sloane, Miller and Wes.

PennyLane335 · 21/10/2024 21:05

@NeckolasCage oh yessss didn't even think of that connotation 🙈

Yep totally get that and also going for something softer also breaks the kind of 'theme' which I unintentionally have created.

PoppysAunt · 21/10/2024 21:08

Blythe and Willa are lovely.
How about Hazel or Rumer?

Lwrenn · 21/10/2024 21:13

PoppysAunt · 21/10/2024 20:48

Do not call your child Cash. That would be cruel.
From your list I like Lennox and Elara best.

I know of 4 kids called cash, it's quite popular now.
One has a brother called ace.

I've come across Ace.
I'm just questioning Cash. As I said to the OP, I think of Bangers and Cash!
Personal choice, however.

Bailey fits your vibe and is unisex
