I am expecting baby number 3 early next year and we are not finding out the gender so I need suggestions of boys and girls names.

Baby number 3 will be sibling to Sloane (girl) and Miller (boy).

Names we like (but are set on) so you can get our vibe-

Boys

  • Archer
  • Henley
  • Cash
  • Lennox

Girls

  • Elara
  • Delaney
  • Lennie
  • Gia

I presume you're in the US?

I find it difficult to think of most of these as names because in the UK several of them are just nouns, which means they sound awkward to my ear

US MNers will be able to judge them better.

Uh oh, adult in the room 😂

saraclara · 21/10/2024 22:33

Sorry OP, but I really think you should avoid anything remotely surname-y. Because people in real life will chuckle, just as some of us have, at three surnames sounding like a legal firm.

@discoballdave love Blaire! Gorgeous

I think it looks like someone mistyped Claire. I think you’d get asked constantly

Bikessmikes · 21/10/2024 22:35

Yes they are American sounding but these sorts of names are growing in popularity.

For a girl: Klina or Qashere
For a boy: Gardner or McAlnwick

Yes, miller and Sloane does sound like an estate agency to a British person. I know these sorts of names are big in the US though

Has the OP said they are from the US? My husband’s family live in the Midlands (UK), these sorts of names are quite popular there.

I’m not at all against surnames as first names, but I do think having two “occupation” names that end in -er doesn’t sound great (Miller and Carter or Miller and Harper or Miller and Archer etc). The first name I thought of for Sloane and Miller was Meredith, other thoughts were Meadow, Blake, Regan, Evan, Curtis.

Wouldn't it be brilliant if Gardener became a gardener?! Nominative determinism right there.
Although it's not likely that Archer would be firing arrows!

margegunderson · 21/10/2024 22:53

How about twins called Cash and Carry?
Not a fan of surnames as names, sorry, and Sloane just sounds like Made In Chelsea to me.
Deffo not Cash.

Dash/Dashiell?

GU24Mum · 21/10/2024 22:56

What about Blaise for a girl?

Userxyd · 21/10/2024 22:57

I agree with others go for a softer name for no. 3 else it does sound a bit themey. Place names are think are too similar to surnames in that way? Nice as a one off but if all 3 names are a bit left of field then they sound less unique and special. Sloane and Miller go really nicely atm and have a cool relaxed ageless feel to them, so if you had a similar "normal" name it might just make all 3 sound different in their own way?
Maybe eg. Sloane, Miller and James or Sloane, Miller and Eve.
Sloane, Miller and Barry? Nah lol

Bailey fits your vibe and is unisex

Yes nice 😊

BootballJoy · 21/10/2024 23:01

Archer is my favourite of your boy names- also love PP's suggestion of Dashiell, that's a great name.

I think your vibes are kind of '2000s American' - maybe:

So you've had suggested Harlow, Sutton and Camden?

I love this thread.

I vote for Croydon, Merton and Enfield. Never met a little Wandsworth or Lambeth, but there’s time yet …

LuckySantangelo35 · 21/10/2024 23:07

Why do siblings names have to ‘go’ together?? Most of their life their name won’t be said in conjunction with their siblings.
