We really love the name Raine, we feel it's different, pretty, not over used but not too out there. We are pretty set on it for our baby girl but need help with middle names! At the moment we have Raine Ivy Evans but would love to hear more suggestions. Thank you!

Raine is pronounced (Rain)

Raine is an actual name whereas rain isn't.

berksandbeyond · 29/09/2024 08:35

Make Raine the middle name and give them a proper name

User364837 · 29/09/2024 08:35

I would assume it’s short for Lorraine

Onmyparade

Raingoaway

Personally no middle name.

Rain just doesn’t look like a name to me. Raine is more commonly used for a girl name. But thanks for your concerns, my child will be fine.

Amazed how many people haven't heard of Raine as a proper first name! I think it's lovely and that it works very well with Ivy as a MN.

Well I know that’s your intention, I was just saying that for me it connects to Lorraine which obviously isn’t quite in the same vein so maybe something to think about if that bothers you

I know right! Thank you so much :)

Raine is a perfectly valid name but for me, it brings to mind Princess Diana's stepmother who they apparently nicknamed Acid.

I have seen this on a couple other threads but I had no idea who that was and I’m sure many people my age wouldn’t either. I’m sure when she is at school no one will even think of princess Diana’s stepmum. It doesn’t bother me really but thank you!

I think it's a strong enough name not to need a middle name but if you want one then Ivy works.

Apollo365 · 29/09/2024 08:56

I went to school with a Raina some 30 years ago, the replies you are getting are ridiculous OP.
I think Raine Ivy works well. Lovely name 🥰

Autumnweddingguest · 29/09/2024 08:59

I like it. And yes, spelled with an e. It was Princess Di's stepmother's name.

I'd add quite a long middle name with it. Not saying I love these names necessarily but the number of syllables flows.

Raine Josephine
Raine Arabella
Raine Marguerite
Raine Beatrice
Raine Gabriella
