We really love the name Raine, we feel it's different, pretty, not over used but not too out there. We are pretty set on it for our baby girl but need help with middle names! At the moment we have Raine Ivy Evans but would love to hear more suggestions. Thank you!

Raine is pronounced (Rain)

I dont like raine.

and

Rain

I went to school with a Raina some 30 years ago, the replies you are getting are ridiculous OP.
I think Raine Ivy works well. Lovely name 🥰

Thank you! 🥰

It’s not for everyone. There’s many names I dislike too but others love. I was asking for middle name ideas but thank you for bringing your opinion.

I like it. And yes, spelled with an e. It was Princess Di's stepmother's name.

I'd add quite a long middle name with it. Not saying I love these names necessarily but the number of syllables flows.

Raine Josephine
Raine Arabella
Raine Marguerite
Raine Beatrice
Raine Gabriella

Thank you! We quite like Raine Ophelia too!

Raine Storme

Raine Stormi

GoodVibesHere · 29/09/2024 09:08

Why are people thinking it should be spelled Rain?! I like it and would always assume Raine.

Personally I like it with a longer middle name such as Stephanie or Francesca.

Nannyoggapple · 29/09/2024 09:12

If I was using Raine as a name, I would use another nature name as a middle name.

Raine Storm sounds cool!

User09088 · 29/09/2024 09:13

I’m not sure I would use it if my surname was Evans.

It sounds like Heavens where I’m currently living, people drop their Hs.

so there is too much of a sky theme for me. Though you could go all out and have Raine Skye Evans!

Gosh I always thought it was a boy’s name. Maybe that’s the no e version.
love it!

Raine Michael
Raine Edward

I rather like the name Raine and if you and your partner like it then you should go with it. My daughters have 'unusual' names and I have had many comments about them, but we like them, and our daughters like them.

Like other replies here I am of a generation who will remember that Princess Diana's step-mother was called Raine and by all accounts she wasn't a nice woman.

It also made me think of this from Friends:

Rachel : How about for a girl, Rain? Ross : Rain? "Hi, my name is Rain. I have my own kiln and my dress is made out of wheat.

It’s unisex! Love a unisex name personally ☺️

I’m not a fan of out there names but I really like Raine. Rain Ivy goes well.

Overthebow · 29/09/2024 09:24

I’m mid-thirties and I haven’t the Dianna’s mum reference so don’t think that will be an issue for this age but I do know the Friends reference.

wickerlady · 29/09/2024 09:32

It's lovely but I think leave the middle name, it's not needed.

Catlover1705 · 29/09/2024 09:33

Raine Elizabeth is pretty

IrisApfel · 29/09/2024 09:34

DS4 goes to school with a Raine but they pronounce it rainy, I'd never heard it before.

This is a new one 🤣 I’ve never heard the name Evans and thought Heavens (even before I married)

Thank you, we’d love all our children to have middle names though! Just personal preference x

Thank you. I love a unique name! I’d not heard either reference and hopefully people won’t base their opinion on my daughter based on these. Despite a lot of these comments on the thread I still love the name.

I'm mid-thirties and I have heard the Diana's mum reference!

And the friends reference.

I also remember an extremely sad book that my cousin, had about a girl called Rain. She was the main character, and loads of sad things happened to her. Does anyone remember that book?
