Love this name for a boy.

Are we going to get lots of "Azza" and "Ass-a" pronouncing?

Ay-sa

GraceOMalleyReturns · 22/09/2024 21:28

I’d assume ‘Ass-A’

Deliberationdivinationdesperation · 22/09/2024 21:29

Ay-sa / Acer - I thought most people were familiar with this name and so would be surprised if people said ass-a

Beamur · 22/09/2024 21:30

Traditional Yorkshire name.
Ace-er
Or Ay-sah
I can't imagine anyone living in the north of England saying Ass-er

Holidayhell22 · 22/09/2024 21:31

As above Ay-sa (Acer)
I know a couple and they all use this pronunciation.

Andoutcomethewolves · 22/09/2024 21:31

Ay-sah/Acer

XiCi · 22/09/2024 21:32

It's pronounced Ay-sa

Andoutcomethewolves · 22/09/2024 21:32

Great name btw

fivechairs · 22/09/2024 21:32

I've not heard or seen the name before, I read it as being pronounced Ass-ser

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 22/09/2024 21:32

Ay-sa or Acer.

I've not heard or seen the name before, I read it as being pronounced Ass-ser

Nope it’s not pronounced that way. It’s a biblical name I believe.

BuffaloCauliflower · 22/09/2024 21:33

Ay-sa. For it to be Ass-a it would need two s’s

TheThreeCheesesOfTheApocalypse44 · 22/09/2024 21:35

It's pronounced Ac er......type it in to YouTube. The pronunciation will be on there.

RaininSummer · 22/09/2024 21:36

Never heard it before but would say Aysa.

NowyouhaveDunnett · 22/09/2024 21:38

Ay-sa. I was at school with a boy called Asa. His nickname was Asa Spades

JC03745 · 22/09/2024 21:38

Never heard or seen it written. I admit, I initially read it as Ass-A, but assumed that wasn't correct, then thought maybe Ace-A???

Henriette9 · 22/09/2024 21:38

GraceOMalleyReturns · 22/09/2024 21:28

I’d assume ‘Ass-A’

Same.

User364837 · 22/09/2024 21:39

Ay-ser
I’m not familiar with it but that would be how I’d say it unless told otherwise

fivechairs · 22/09/2024 21:39

@Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain I didn't say it was supposed to be pronounced that way, I was stating how I read it as someone who has never heard/seen the name before, which is what I think the OP was asking.

fivechairs · 22/09/2024 21:32

I've not heard or seen the name before, I read it as being pronounced Ass-ser

Same! I don't get aycer from that spelling at all

GoodVibesHere · 22/09/2024 21:44

I've never heard it before and would guess it to be Ass-a.

ThePoshUns · 22/09/2024 21:48

Acer

Snugglemonkey · 22/09/2024 21:52

Ace-a. There is no r at the end for me.

Elyalbert · 22/09/2024 21:56

Ace-a is my first bet, followed any Azz-a, then Ass-a.

Lunabetty · 22/09/2024 21:58

Acer
