I think I'm going to go uber poncy for unborn baby's middle name. What is the PONCIEST name you can think of?

I've heard of a little boy having his name changed by his parents at age one. From Ethan to.......

Tolstoy!!!

ChairmumMiaow · 16/04/2008 11:39

A friend of mine called their baby Zoltan (second middle name) - perhaps not poncy enough, but certainly different

They got the name from an eastern european coffee server at a service station!

marina · 16/04/2008 11:40

Candia
Gervase
Ildiko
Petronella
Sophronia
Thaddeus

NB, I am not saying these names are loathesome, just fancy

SSSandy2 · 16/04/2008 11:40

Well if I felt the need to be a bit poncey, I might go for Augusta, Honoria or Octavia.

Quite like Honoria and Octavia btw. Nothing wrong with the names per se but they have that slightly poncey edge to them - to my ears anyway

No idea about boys

marina · 16/04/2008 11:41

Artaxerxes
Arcturus
Clorinda
Athelstan
Wilgefortis

Kathyis6incheshigh · 16/04/2008 11:42

Zoltan sounds like an ultra-powerful, probably carcinogenic, headlice remedy.

belgo · 16/04/2008 11:46

Isn't Zoltan a brand of suncream?

casbie · 16/04/2008 11:46

isn't Zoltan the evil chap out of Flash Gordon?

ListersSister · 16/04/2008 11:49

Nimrod Ping was the name of a local councillor round our way. He died a few years ago, but was by all accounts a lovely and clever man. Bizarre name has to be said though.

What about Halcyon or Zebedee or Zed (all real name in use around here...).

SSSandy2 · 16/04/2008 11:49

I just googled the name and it seems to be Hungarian and means "life" so that's quite nice

SSSandy2 · 16/04/2008 11:50

Zoltan that is
