Help me pick a girls name

Hi MNers, sister to Lucy due in a few months and we finally have a shortlist both I and DH love:

• Elsa
• Olivia
• Hazel
• Ariane

Which one is your favourite and why? Last name is short and common (think Jones).

Definitely Hazel, lovely name. Olivia is overdone, Elsa a bit meh, not keen on Ariane.

I like Hazel, and prefer Elsie to Elsa.

Elsa is my favourite; i think people are getting past the Frozen thing and it's getting slowly more popular. I've liked it since Born Free!
Olivia has a nice sound- there are so many Olivias so it depends how much or if that bothers you.
I just don't like Hazel, i don't like the sound. Seems a bit mumsy. And there's the rabbit in watership down.
I much prefer Marianne to Ariane.

I have a Lucy and her middle name is Olivia, so that gets my vote!

@Doublebiscuit77 thank you for saying this because the ONLY reason why I would be hesitant to use Elsa is Frozen. I have been contemplating Marianne for a long time unfortunately the present GF of my brother is called Marianne 😂

Olivia I hesitate as it is literally the number 1 name in the UK...but the sounds are so lovely, and I like Olive as a NN.

Ariane is my favourite out of the lot

My friend has twins - Lucy and Olivia.

Lucy and Elsa is lovely but I would be cautious as I heard a 3rd frozen film is being released next year

Lucy and Hazel is lovely

Olivia is nice enough but is very popular which ours me off

I'm not a fan of Ariane sorry

Olivia is so so overused at least where I live.
Hazel is lovely.
I'm not sure how to pronounce Ariane? Arry-Anne? Arry-Annie? For that reason I'd say no to that one, although it looks very pretty written down.

I like Hazel best but Olivia with Lucy.

Too many Olivias. Elsa reminiscent of Frozen. Hazel is lovely and quite like Ariane, would Astrid also be an alternative?

Olivia is very early 00s and far too common. There are 4 in DD’s year group and I know many more

Ariane is one that I considered for DD and glad I didn’t use! She is 17 and was absolutely horrified when I told her I nearly named her it. Looking back it’s got quite a middle aged woman vibe to it in a bad way. Ariana is lovely though and nice nickname potential.

Elsa is nice but still quite reminiscent of Frozen

Thank you everyone, I am removing Ariane from the mix, unfortunately someone told me it made them think about the aryan race and I can't unhear it.

The popularity of Olivia does bother me even though I agree it goes perfectly with Lucy.

I think my two contenders are Elsa and Hazel. Elsa's heavy link to Frozen doesn;t bother ME but would it bother a child with constant let it go and do you want to build a snowman is the question.

I absolutely love Elsa and only didn’t go with it for my girl as I thought people would associate it with Frozen. I actually got it from the barroness in The Sound of Music :)

I would steer clear of Olivia as it’s the most popular. I had the most popular name of my generation and I hated having loads of us in class, or now at work.

Hazel is lovely.
Elsa reminds me of the lioness in Born Free.
Loads of Olivias about, though it's a nice name.
Ariane is a rocket!
