Faraday or Iris or...?

Struggling to find a girl's name I love.

I like slightly unusual but not too 'out-there' names, and also not a huge fan of girls' names ending in -a, though there are a few exceptions.

Is Faraday too out there? Any other suggestions?

I don't see anything wrong with Faraday. But then I've taught an Einstein! It's a surname but so are loads of modern names. I think it's better than using one of the similar sounding Persian/Islamic names if you aren't from Iran/a Muslim.

Love the suggestions of Calliope and Romilly. Iris is also gorgeous.

I know a Faraday in her 50s. She absolutely hates it.
Iris is very popular atm.
Names like Susan, Lorraine, Lynnette, Nicola and Sandra are not often heard in today's classrooms. Neither are Kelly, Joanna, Samantha, Barbara, Angela.

Reminds me of my 3 g grandad whose surname was Garbutt, his brothers were Garbutt and Marmaduke! He lucked out with Robert.
Farah is lovely
