Really liking the name Pascal. Is that mental hormones?
I grew up in Ireland and I'm sure I heard it somewhere maybe..
is it a nice name or am I mad to even consider?

I really like it - especially if their birthday will be around Easter.

I knew a French Pascal once, a female.

The ex Irish Finance Minister is called Paschal Donohoe.
He's now Minister for Public Expenditure, National Development Plan Delivery and Reform and is President of the Eurogroup whatever that is.
It's generally pronounced Paskel.
The French version Pascal is pronounced Pascaal.
In Ireland I think it would be regarded as a "Catholic" name, parents of baby probably religious.

BumpyaDaisyevna · 30/07/2023 12:21

It is ultimately Greek from the Greek word for Easter - Pascha.

Should add I like it in French. With an English accent it sounds pretty awful.

I don’t get a lot of difference between the English and French pronunciation? Pass (as in mass) - Cal.

French and yes it's a boy's name. I like it.

it’s french, can also be Pascale for a girl.
it is a very old name though, as in your grand dad is called Pascal.

It could be a sibling name for Ada

I’ll wager that the OP has gone with another name 😉
