Sky or Hazel for a boy

I like Sky and Hazel for boys, and was wondering what the general opinion was on their usability. Sky has been consistently used for boys in England and Wales, albeit fewer than ten babies a year, though Hazel has never registered as a boys name. I do like softer boys names generally and many like like Rowan, Robin, Sacha which are also well used for girls. For these names, I don't like them as girls names.

These aren't names I'm seriously considering using, mostly as I like other names more and it's a no from my husband anyway, but just wondered what other people thought of them

Sky and Hazel for a lad are just totally ludicrous IMO. There's a very good reason there is no male called Hazel in a country of 70 million people!!

Not at all keen on Rowan, Robin or Sacha for boys either. All sound weak to me.

Yeah it's just you 🤦🏼‍♀️

Giving a boy a generally accepted girls name is pretty cruel

Willow is terrible idea for a boy.

@TheBirdintheCave

I know what you mean- why isn't it ok for girls to be called James max etc

HOWEVER- it's going to be awful for that kid I school. Kids are awful to each other at times. Why set them up for bullying. ?

I say the same about the James for a girl.

I think Haz/Haze would work better though it's still an out-there name but is more masculine and not associated with girls' names.

Not great for a boy to be honest. I love Rowan and Asher (Ash).

@hahalfsiesonapotnoodle I have an Asher! According to MN though, it's not a real name 🙄🙄 As I said upthread, we're Jewish, and it's a very common name in our community.
