Hello,
Currently pregnant with my first child and wondering how people will react to the name we have chosen for our child.
Don't want to tell anyone in real life in case they hate it.

So we have: Cecilia (Cece) for a girl and Nathaniel (Nate) for a boy.

Please tell me your honest thoughts on our names ❤

I am less keen on Cecilia but Cece is lovely and there is also nothing wrong with Cecilia! Nate / Nathaniel is lovely too. Both good solid choices!

HallieHufflepuff · 12/01/2023 00:17

@Starryskiesinthesky Thank you! We would refer to baby by their nickname day to day but I also wanted them to have a longer name that they could choose to go by if they preferred.

Not my personal choice but I don't dislike them. If you like them use one Smile

alotoftutus · 12/01/2023 00:53

I like both, and know both under 5.

Mumma · 12/01/2023 00:58

They sound very American to me, which is a personal dislike but I have heard much worse names.

Fabfam · 12/01/2023 01:02

Celia is better than Cecelia . Nathaniel is ok but a bit of a mouthful .Nat is definitely a better version .

Amy106 · 12/01/2023 01:10

I like both names very much.😀

mathanxiety · 12/01/2023 01:12

Beautiful names, both timeless classics.

Lol @ 'they sound American' Grin

WannabeSlimSally · 12/01/2023 01:13

Cecelia sounds elegant and classy and Cece for short when she's younger is cute. Not sure about Nathaniel, agree it's a bit of a mouth full. Plus I always think it sounds like it should be Nathan or Daniel, but that's probably just me...

DramaAlpaca · 12/01/2023 01:21

Good choices. I like both names very much.

Aria999 · 12/01/2023 01:25

I prefer Nathan to Nathaniel.

KangarooKenny · 12/01/2023 06:44

I like Nate and Cece.

Twizbe · 12/01/2023 06:52

I like them.

I have a CeCe but she is Cerys properly. I love the nickname, though as she's got older it tends to be Ce more than anything. Interestingly she doesn't like anyone other than me calling her Ce or CeCe.

How bloody ridiculous. Shame on you for hating something just because it comes from a particular country

MackerelTabby · 12/01/2023 06:58

I like both a lot, congratulations - that's on your pregnancy as opposed to selecting nice names 😂

CastleTower · 12/01/2023 07:31

Very nice.

VenusClapTrap · 12/01/2023 08:41

They're both a bit too long for me. I prefer Celia or Cecily. I don’t like Cece at all, it’s so infantile. Nate is ok.

inquisitorgeneral · 12/01/2023 08:55

I think they're both lovely names. I really like Cecilia. They don't sound American to me (why is any mildly unusual name attributed to Americans?). They wouldn't stand out (in a negative way) in my community.

Roselilly36 · 12/01/2023 08:56

Lovely choices, many congrats OP.

MalagaNights · 12/01/2023 09:00

I really love the full names but don't like the nicknames.

CeCe is a bit twee.
Nate is is a bit bland. Sounds like mate.

NessieMcNessface · 12/01/2023 09:00

I LOVE Cecilia and Cece. I’m not that keen on Nathanial but that’s just a personal choice; it’s a solid name it’s just that I prefer others.

Rauha · 12/01/2023 09:03

I LOVE your name choices.

ofwarren · 12/01/2023 09:09

I like them both

Fivebeanchilli · 12/01/2023 09:14

I adore Cecilia and Nathaniel.

DuchessOfSausage · 12/01/2023 12:24

Not keen on Cecelia and Cece is awful.
Nathaniel is ok. Prefer Nat to Nate.
