I have a Tara and want to stick with a T name. Leaning towards Tegan but also like Trinity and Trudy

Trudy (autocorrect)

Downtownmarjoriebrown · 18/02/2022 19:16

Tegan, and similar names like Ragan, seemed to have a surge in popularity perhaps 15 years ago - those girls are now high school age. Not that I think that's a bad thing necessarily, just an observation!

daisypond · 18/02/2022 19:19

I don’t mind Tegan, but it means toy, and it puts me off. Also, the anglicised pronunciation is different to the correct Welsh. However, I quite like Trudy - better if it was short for something. Trinity is very odd. I’d assume very evangelical religious.

HopefulProcrastinator · 18/02/2022 19:20

Tegan means toy in Welsh so I'd avoid just because of that...but we are in Wales.

AuntTwacky · 18/02/2022 19:21

No!

Tess
Tanith
Tabitha
Tansy
Thalia

wingscrow · 18/02/2022 19:28

Tegan: awful. The type of name a Kardashian would choose.

Trinity: religious connotation or a Matrix reference, not good either way...

Trudy: old fashioned

Trina: odd...

Sorry but there are many nicer names starting with a T.

Thea pronounced Tay-a
Tessa
Tilly
Talia
Therese

I've always thought of Tegan as a bit downmarket sorry

Tegan and Trinity are awful. If you're desperate for a 'T' name, Thea is nice.

Cheekypeach · 18/02/2022 19:36

Love it. Gorgeous name

PlanetNormal · 18/02/2022 19:39

Tegan is, shall we say, the opposite of posh. If you don’t care about that, fine, but people will judge.
Tia or Tilly (Matilda) are both nicer.

astoundedgoat · 18/02/2022 19:40

I know an Antigone who goes as Tiggy. Do you like that?

When I see Tegan I think of Tegan and Sara, which isn't a bad thing at all!

Trudy is very 50's, I think. Oh! Um - she was in Mad Men. The unpopular guy's lovely wife with the posh accent. Pete Campbell's wife.

Trinity is the name of a college.

Tara is lovely.

No they won’t 🙄
user1493494961 · 18/02/2022 20:02

I agree that Tegan is the opposite of posh.

Pineapples9087 · 18/02/2022 20:26

I really like Tegan!
Also like Tessa and Thea?

Blueexpress · 18/02/2022 20:39

What does the opposite of ‘posh’ mean? Like working class? Because if the glove fits and all…

I can honestly say I have never judged a person based solely on their name.

I know a Tarragon.

wizzler · 18/02/2022 20:44

Of your suggestions I prefer Trinity
I love Tara, Thalia, Tess,
How do you feel about Edwina (n Teddy)

SantiagoSky · 18/02/2022 20:44

Tina or Tyra?

Blueexpress · 18/02/2022 20:46

I’ve never met a Tegan. I think that was the appeal… lol. Sad that so many hate it.
