Peregrine? Or Falcon?

So Peregrine is an actual name, which could be cool or could be disastrous, I'm not sure. What do you think? If not Peregrine what about Falcon? Made up admittedly, but kind of powerful?

Are you insane!! Both names ate child cruelty

AnnoyedByAlfieBear · 20/01/2022 22:15

I'm like both. Falcon is a real name. As in the Antarctic explorer, Captain Robert Falcon Scott.

TracyMosby · 20/01/2022 22:17

I considered Peregrine as we liked the nickname perry

TheAbbotOfUnreason · 20/01/2022 22:19

I know a Peregrine, he goes by the name Perry.

UltraVividLament · 20/01/2022 22:19

Peregrine is an old name, nickname could be Pippin like the character in Lord of the Rings.

MintyGreenDream · 20/01/2022 22:20

Oh dear god no

Pondtoad · 20/01/2022 22:21

Kevin and Perry though!

RosaBaby2 · 20/01/2022 22:22

I love the name Falco, I know one, he is now a man in his late 20s suits it so much! Very cool.

@Pondtoad

Kevin and Perry though!
Yes Miss Patterson 😁
Sportsnight · 20/01/2022 22:25

I really like Peregrine.

APileofLogs · 20/01/2022 22:28

I know a Merlin and he is a lovely chap. Peregrine makes me think of Peregrine Worsthorne. Falcon makes me think of the Gladiators.

Peregrine? Or Falcon?

I actually quite like Falcon and Falco.
Not keen on Peregrine, I find it a bit pretentious sounding.

Luredbyapomegranate · 20/01/2022 22:31

@TheGreenLady

A Peregrine Falcon is a type of bird.
The OP knows this.. Grin
ISeeTheLight · 20/01/2022 22:31

I used to work with a Falko. It's a German name. He was very cool.
Falcon is a bit weird.

Peregrine is unusual but it is a name; would be okay with surname like Smith but Peregrine Windsor-Battencourt or some such would be a bit much.

MissHavishamsMouldyOldCake · 20/01/2022 22:32

Peregrine is the name of some horny old viscount with wandering hands and crumbs on his waistcoat.

Angliski · 20/01/2022 22:32

Both fairly ridiculous. I find a good gauge of a name is imagining that child as an adult introducing themselves for an interview- or their partner repeating their name in the throes of passion…

‘Oh Falcon, Falcccooonnn’ etc

MissHavishamsMouldyOldCake · 20/01/2022 22:33

If I met a Falco I'd have to be physically restrained from singing Rock Me Amadeus

Pinetreesfall · 20/01/2022 22:38

We've just been talking about peregrine falcons at work...as in the actual birds. Don't call your child either name please (coming from the person with a pet named Tarquin)

OverByYer · 20/01/2022 22:38

Falcon! Please don’t

Viviennemary · 20/01/2022 22:41

Ok for a budgie I suppose. Kind of dynamic.

Bimblybomeyelash · 20/01/2022 22:42

What’s Merlin got to do with birds?

Bimblybomeyelash · 20/01/2022 22:43

Ok, through the wonder of Google I see that Merlin is a falcon. I was thinking wizard.

tearinghairout · 20/01/2022 22:43

@MissHavishamsMouldyOldCake Grin Brilliant!

I like Robin, Peregrine and Falcon. They're all great! I love all nature names. Just not Great Tit.

WhatScratch · 20/01/2022 22:44

Widgeon?
