I recently heard of an Elphinstone Dalgleish. Have also met a couple of kids called Star.

What fun/marvellous/slightly wacky names have you come across?

Just googled the name because I felt I'd spelt it incorrectly. It's Siobhan. Sorry to all of you out there with such a beautiful name Blush

Working in a summer job I coordinated booking for a local children’s activity. There were young sisters affectionately called “Truly and Lula” - full names Truly Scrumptious and Tallulahbelle 🙈

Friend of a friend worked in a registry office (my dream job btw! 🤣) and registered twins called Levi and Versace McLatchie 😳

I recently encountered a wonderful young schoolgirl called Templeton, fiery red hair, bossy but fair, I'm convinced she will one day be prime minister, fabulous!

My son's much loved toy rat is called Templeton. We get lots of comments about that name.

I read a CV once from a man called Godknows, that one always stuck with me.

I also knew a set of brothers called Shaun and Sean.

Star Hooker, she used to regularly ring my place of work. She had actually changed her name by deed poll. We found out that her original name was Eileen.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 11/01/2022 07:05

Randy Katz. He was American. Would be about 70 now.

Honor Head. Youngish woman at the time, so I assumed it was her maiden name.

Attila-Armani was a lad at my children's primary school. He'd be in his late 20s now.

JennyForeigner · 11/01/2022 07:07

Little girl called Faraday. Love it.

SpiderinaWingMirror · 11/01/2022 07:16

jeanne16 · 11/01/2022 07:36

I had a great uncle called Clotworthy. This was shortened to Worthy, somewhat unsurprisingly.

I love Loveday
I knew a Tequila and Candida at school ...

Jacaranda75 · 11/01/2022 07:43

Rags-Blue Bailey.

I thought this was such a cool name. She'd be in her forties now. I do wonder if she changed it to something a bit more mainstream.

EmpressaurusWitchDoesntBurn · 11/01/2022 07:44

I used to know three students called Armani, L’Oreal and Chanelle. As far as I know they weren’t related, just friends.

MintyGreenDream · 11/01/2022 07:51

We were on holiday in Greece and a little boy in the hotel was called George-Ronald!!

Twinkleylight · 11/01/2022 07:57

I wonder if the kids with the really out there names changed it to something ordinary when they grew up? Truly Scrumptious's parents might be peeved if she changed her name to Jane!

jaundicedoutlook · 11/01/2022 07:59

I’ve always rather enjoyed this person’s name (genuine, by the way)…

I once worked with a Praisegod. Or maybe it was Praise God - I never saw it written down as far as I can recall.

He was originally from Nigeria, where I gather it wasn't that unusual. Wasn't there a Nigerian president called Goodluck a few years ago?
