What is Arthur's sister called?

I feel like I've been through every name in the world and still can't find the "perfect" one.

We're fussy because the surname is long (double barrelled), and so the first name has to be short. Also my family tends to use nicknames, so it has to have a nickname that we like.

We loved Iris for ages, but I hate all nicknames that we can come up with for it. I also love Annie as a nickname, but don't want to give her a nickname as a first name so she can use the longer form when she's older. But the only longer version of Annie that I like is Anastasia, and that feels too long with our surname!

Help!

I love Iris, and can’t actually think what you would use an a nickname for it. Also like:

Annie is not a nn?? It my grannies real name (born 100+ years ago). Their nn was Nancy. Obviously very common name at the time, as my DH grans were both called Annie too!

Arthur's sister is Annabel, of course. She can be called Anna, Belle, Bella or your loved Annie.

Atla · 18/09/2021 12:58

@donquixotedelamancha you beat me to Morgana 😂

I had a great uncle Arthur and his sisters were called Florence, Constance, Margaret and Dorothy (or Flo, Connie, Molly and Dot!)

Lucy, Lily, Clara, Emily, Jane, Grace all have a similar vibe to Arthur I think.
