I never understand people who name their kids Hannah, Sarah, Emily or Lily because they are such overused boring names. So many children are still called that though..

There will always be someone who uses a name.. Family names etc

I do struggle with anykne who holds their newborn in their arms and thinks.. Ahh you look like a Keith/kevin but to each their own!

I think that won't hold as much significance for the next generation. Jack the Ripper didnt stop Jack being a popular name.

I think a lot of the 70s 80snamea are coming back as choices for babes of hipsters tbh

I’ve taught two girls called Dolly in the last few years.

Jack and Rose survived because they were massively popular, whereas Myra wasn't. So to most people Jack didn't equal Jack the Ripper, but Uncle Jack or Jack down the road or Jack who runs the chip shop or whoever.

If boys are named Teddy, girls can be called Dolly

At least two of my ferrets names are mentioned here so maybe they’ll given a new furry lease of life if the humans are rejecting them!

Isn't Dolly short for Dolores? I certainly can't imagine that coming back! But I can't imagine calling a child Dolly either. It's a ridiculous diminutive.
