Which would you pick?

OP posts:

sel2223 · 25/07/2020 23:07

I'm sorry OP but I wouldn't pick any of them. They're just random words, not names.

Grufallosfriends · 25/07/2020 23:08

I'd pick Grey.

HollyBen · 25/07/2020 23:11

I personally wouldn't use any of them. In fact I am struggl8ng to pick which I prefer. Perhaps Briar as I recognise it as a name. However I do associate it with Briar Rose (Sleeping Beauty)

TheFlis12345 · 25/07/2020 23:12

Ford is terrible. Briar a bit odd depending on surname. I know a couple of guys called Grey / Gray and it suits them both.

namesall · 25/07/2020 23:13

I think Grey is the best x

BeanbagMcTavish · 25/07/2020 23:15

If I had to, I'd pick Briar.

Sorry, but none are great.

Grey sounds like mummy was a big Fifty Shades fan.

And Ford? Why not Skoda?

TenThousandSpoons · 25/07/2020 23:16

Grey is the best of a bad bunch. Sorry OP.

DramaAlpaca · 25/07/2020 23:16

Grey is the best of the bunch.

Briar is more of a girls' name I think.

Ford would be better spelled Forde, maybe?

lakesidesummer · 25/07/2020 23:19

I know a Ford.
Personally they aren't my kind of names but Ford is normal name in the USA.

BaronessBomburst · 25/07/2020 23:20

I thought that Briar was a girl's name.

Shmithecat2 · 25/07/2020 23:24

None of them, they're dreadful.

Xiaoxiong · 25/07/2020 23:25

All I can think about is Ford Prefect.

Zhampagne · 25/07/2020 23:29

Briar will be misread as Brian or mistaken for a girl (Briar Rose is Sleeping Beauty's name in traditional versions of the story).

Ford = cars

Grey is just not a colour I would want to associate with a person. It makes me think of the Spitting Image puppet of John Major (which really dates me!). Would you consider Grayson, or Graham?

Thisismytimetoshine · 25/07/2020 23:31

They're awful! Why would you call your child after the dullest colour in the universe? The other two aren't names at all.

AntiHop · 25/07/2020 23:31

None of them, sorry.

AriettyHomily · 25/07/2020 23:31

Briar is a girls name. The other two are awful.

timetest · 25/07/2020 23:33

None of them. Sorry.

PurpleDaisies · 25/07/2020 23:37

None. They are all awful.

TimeWastingButFun · 25/07/2020 23:43

I wouldn't pick any - Briar is too similar to Brian, Ford... that's a car. And Grey... reminds me of a really terrible film/book.

RaininSummer · 25/07/2020 23:44

They are all a bit strange tbh.

Lollypop4 · 25/07/2020 23:46

Grey But only because we had "Grayson" as a name for a boy ( Our baby turned out to be a girl!)

netflixismysidehustle · 25/07/2020 23:49

Briar Rose is Sleeping Beauty even in the Disney version so some peers will be aware of it as a girls name
Ford will end up as a car related joke. Were you conceived in a back of a Ford? Are you an Escort? Sort of thing Imagine a teacher accidentally saying "Ford, focus!"
That leaves Grey which gives me Jilly Cooper, 50 Shades vibes

okiedokieme · 26/07/2020 00:00

Ford if you are hitchhikers guide to the galaxy fans. Why not just choose a proper name. Briar is a girls name in sleeping beauty

ParisCactus · 26/07/2020 00:06

As a British person:
Briar reminds me of Briar Rose / Sleeping Beauty.
Grey makes me think of 50 Shades of....
Ford is cars.

bookmum08 · 26/07/2020 00:10

Don't you like first names. Those sound like surnames.
