Which would you pick?

None -- they are all awful for names.

ArchbishopOfBanterbury · 27/07/2020 10:12

Gray is lovely. I think I'd go for full name Grayson.

MikeUniformMike · 27/07/2020 18:27

Grey could be short for Graydon.

Thisismytimetoshine · 27/07/2020 18:36

I don't get the love for briar. It's a prickly, thorny shrub, hardly a pleasant association?

Crankley · 27/07/2020 18:40

They are all a bit 'try hard'

puzzledpiece · 27/07/2020 18:49

They are all awful imo.

Notajogger · 27/07/2020 22:20

Yeah none are good. Briar - old Disney princess. Ford - surname or car. Grey - dull colour. Also as pp said sounds like a rather obsessed 50 shades fan.
Also Briar would definitely be having to say "no not Brian, Briar, with an R" his entire life.

EuphieKat · 28/07/2020 02:54

I think if Briar as a girls’ name; have you considered spelling it Bryher? I’m sure I’ve come across that.

floralf · 28/07/2020 05:37

I don't love any of them, sorry!

Ford just makes me think of the car, Briar I believe is a girls name? Briar rose from Sleeping Beauty...ive never heard of it for a boy before.
I don't mind grey but I prefer Gray - that's me just being extra picky though

Sittinonthefloor · 28/07/2020 05:49

Awful names. I know a grown up gray - he doesn’t like it, a lifetime of bad jokes. Ford is a boring car and briar is a prickly girls name. Two of these names don’t autocorrect to get a capital letter - big hint!

SpeedofaSloth · 28/07/2020 05:51

Briar Rose
Ford Prefwct
(50 shades of) Grey

SpeedofaSloth · 28/07/2020 05:51

*Prefect

Movinghouseatlast · 28/07/2020 06:00

They are all dreadful and landing a child with a dreadful name leads to teasing at school that can easily turn to bullying.

Grayson would be slightly better.

Twizbe · 28/07/2020 16:35

Another one that thinks of Ford Prefect. He chose the name because he got his research wrong and thought cars were the dominant life form on earth ... not sure that's what you were looking for.

I do know a male Briar

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 28/07/2020 16:44

I'm sure Briar is a girls' name.

Ford just makes me think of Ford Prefect in Hitch-hikers Guide to the Galaxy

Grey - is just meh. It's not even a nice association.

viques · 28/07/2020 17:00

Ford is not aspirational enough . Why not Ferrari?

And actually nor is Grey. Have a drift through the Farrow and Ball paint names for inspiration, Ammonite, Castle, Pavilion. I can guarantee they will be unique, no one else in the school will be called it. Mind you, you might get some sideways eye stares from mothers with five year old hallways that need updating..........

I would forget about Briar too, unless you are very woke. Thorn maybe, or Nettle or Bramble.

Grin
SpeedofaSloth · 28/07/2020 17:58

I really admire Grayson Perry but possibly not enough to name a child after him.

SugarHour · 28/07/2020 18:00

Briar = Briar Rose, girl's name
Ford = car
Grey = 50 Shades Of

PoodleMoth · 28/07/2020 21:26

Ford (really like Hitchhiker's guide!)
To me Briar is a girls name and Grey is becoming common/makes me think of 50 shades

user1493494961 · 28/07/2020 22:03

They're all dreadful.

Spied · 28/07/2020 22:05

Grey is good
