Only if you are Beyonce - that’s a no from me.

KSxx · 19/11/2019 22:54

it's sad really that a celebrity can use unusual and beautiful names and people rarely bat an eyelid. Thankyou for the honest opinions

Really? In my experience people tend to royally take the piss out of bonkers celeb names. Have done for decades.

I asked if you were young because younger people tend to have less general knowledge, plus your post about not expecting or planning kids at all.

You don't need to be in to a particular thing to have heard of it. I don't wear jewellery beyond my wedding and engagement ring. I have a cheap watch in a drawer somewhere that I've not seen for 5 years or more. But I have heard of Cartier! In much the same way that I know fuck all about cars but have heard of Tesla, have no desire to play with model trains but have heard of Hornby. Never bought anything at auction, but heard of Sotheby's.... Etc etc. Just basic general knowledge!

Tillygetsit · 19/11/2019 23:23

Ghastly

myhandsareverycold · 19/11/2019 23:24

Chavvy in the extreme. Just no.

KSxx · 19/11/2019 23:28

@YourOpinionIsNoted

yes people take the piss out of celebrity's names but are way less judgmental when it comes to them in the long run imo. And yes I am probably considered as "young", I don't think that I have less general knowledge just because I don't know one jewellery brand.

Is it Car-tee-yer or Car-tee-ay.

hackneycarrier · 20/11/2019 02:43

Kartier Kardashian

LimeRedBanana · 20/11/2019 03:02

OP - can I recommend that you come back and check in on here first, before implementing any further ideas?

ReggieLedoux · 20/11/2019 03:16

It’s a cigarette brand name too 🚭

KSxx · 20/11/2019 07:34

@Awwlookatmybabyspider car-tee-yer

You can’t really say that some opinions are rude as you asked for people not to sugarcoat it.
When I saw Cartier, my first reaction was “ Seriously?”

Clangus00 · 20/11/2019 07:52

Definitely chavtastic!
People forget that these poor babies need to grow up with these stupid non-names as names and that they aren’t possessions or accessories.

KSxx · 20/11/2019 07:56

@Bunnylady53

I really appreciate the opinions and didn't mean for it to come across as I was saying they were rude.

I meant the mocking comments about other brands and being told to step away from baby name websites just because I like a name x

It screams of someone trying to pretend they're better than they are by choosing a luxury brand name when in actual fact they're more likely to wear knock off Burberry from the market.

ChardonnaysDistantCousin · 20/11/2019 16:24

FFS, are you a Kardashian

Clearly not, because then it would have been Kartier.

user1471449295 · 20/11/2019 16:25

It’s about as vile as calling a child Gucci, Rolex or Lamborghini.

Clettercletterthatsbetter · 20/11/2019 17:51

Absolutely hideous. Please don’t.

MikeUniformMike · 20/11/2019 18:12

Tank

MissHenty · 20/11/2019 18:14

@KSxx OP you’ve taken a bit of a battering here and handled it really well. You don’t seem young to me you seem really mature 😊

BonBon411 · 20/11/2019 18:17

I like it for boys & girls.

CravingCheese · 20/11/2019 18:56

I don't like it.. Carter would be a bit more wearable, I guess.

BettyCrockaShit · 20/11/2019 19:28

Dear God.

BennyTheBall · 20/11/2019 19:32

So. You have a list of names, you've never heard of the brand Cartier, you're 'not planning on children any time soon' and it's going to be with a 'future partner'.

Bless your little cotton socks - you've entered the lion's den!

Lulu1919 · 20/11/2019 19:32

No no no and just NO
