Do you know a William? What's their NN

Just seeing if anyone has same nickname for William that my sister suggested. Also how popular it is as lists suggest it isn't really common now which surprised me. Thanks x

I would find will quite confusing as it's such a common word. Will will come or will will be..?!

I know a few older men (over 50) who are known as Bill.

2 in their early twenties who both go by Billy.

A Will who is around 10.

And one who is always William who is 2.5.

Billy - child
Willum - child in the '70s, don't know what he's known as as an adult

I know a few Liams but have always assumed it's a name in itself not a shortening of anything else.

The little Williams I know, one is known as William and one as Will.

I do know a Billy but not sure if he's actually a William or just Billy.

I have a William, shortened to Liam.

I would have chosen Will but exH thought it was too posh Hmm so we compromised on Liam.

A number of interesting observational moments with people saying "oh so he's really a William" in that knowing way which says "oh so you are middle class really". Grin

99% of the William’s I know are just William. The 1% is Billy.
